Exam Calendar and Location

We are happy to announce that AP/IB testing will take place at Mary W. Jackson (MWJ) Elementary School again this year. It was a tremendously convenient and supportive location for our students last year and we appreciate the opportunity to make use of it again this year. MWJ is located at 750 W. 200 N. and is easily within walking distance for students.

Students and parents are again encouraged to review the AP/IB testing calendar below and note all applicable test dates. Students should contact their Coordinator immediately if there are any testing schedule conflicts. The March newsletter will contain a sign-up for parents and other supporters to serve as test proctors. If you are willing and able, we would love to have your support!

AP/IB Credit at Universities

Are you interested in learning about potential college credit via AP/IB exams? Each college/university provides that information on their websites, and often it's an easy Google Search. For instance, searching "University of Utah and AP credit" brings you to the U's page. Most institutions organize by subject and they will show the courses and credits that are covered by passing the exam. Students have access to detailed information about this on the WHS AP/IB Canvas course, but online searches are quick and easy ways of discover this as well. Many colleges also indicate any general education requirements that are met via an AP/IB exam.

Additionally, the Utah System of Higher Education publishes state-wide information about AP/IB exams on their National Exam Credit Equivalency Charts.

IB also provides a searchable site for information about colleges and universities worldwide which recognize IB programs. Some also indicate particular scholarships for IB students.

Common App Student Advisory Committee

Rising junior or senior students are invited to apply for a position on the Common App Student Advisory Committee. This group provides meaningful feedback on the Common App experience and initiatives and members receive a stipend for participating in monthly meetings. Be involved in the college application process and help shape real improvements! Application deadline: March 2
