As we move into December, I’m excited to share updates about the conclusion of Semester 1 online classes and the arrival of new high school students starting Trimester 2 classes. Please review the important information below regarding deadlines and support for these courses.

Important End of Term Deadlines for Online Classes

To ensure assignments and assessments are included in final grades, students must submit all required work by the following dates:

  • Michigan Virtual Semester 1 Classes: Friday, January 17, 2025

  • A2 Virtual+ Semester 1 Classes: Thursday, January 23, 2025

  • A2 Virtual+ Trimester 2 Classes: Thursday, March 6, 2025

These deadlines also apply to the two required proctored activities for each class.

Additional Proctoring Opportunities

To support students in meeting the proctoring requirement, we’ve scheduled additional evening proctoring sessions at Skyline and other high schools during the final two weeks of each semester.

  • Skyline Evening Proctoring Schedule: Available on our calendar.

  • Building-Specific Opportunities: Accessible through the Schoology Classroom titled Proctoring and Building Support.

Please note if Ann Arbor Public Schools is closed or closes early, proctoring will be canceled. If we need to cancel an evening proctoring session due to weather, the calendar on our website will reflect the closure.

Winter Break Information

As a reminder, Ann Arbor Public Schools will be on break from Friday, December 20, 2024 (end of the school day), through the morning of Monday, January 6, 2025.

  • Students enrolled in A2 Virtual+ classes will have access to their courses during the break, but teachers will not be available.

  • Students enrolled in Michigan Virtual classes will not have access to their courses from December 23 to December 27, 2024.

We encourage all students to use this time to rest and focus on their mental and physical well-being.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students' success. If you have any questions about these updates, please feel free to reach out.

In the Ann Arbor Public Schools, we utilize a cloud-based web filter called Securly to keep students safe on their district-issued devices. To help parents monitor their child's online activity at home, AAPS offers the free Securly Home app. This application allows web-based filtering and parental controls on district-issued devices at home. Parents may set rules to allow or disallow certain websites, pause the Internet connection to the device as desired, and receive weekly usage reports.
