Hello Class of 2026 seniors and families,

We are excited to be a participating school in Direct Admissions Minnesota. This program helps students see their options for education and training after high school through Minnesota’s colleges. Students find out the colleges for which they have already met admissions standards. These colleges waive application fees and streamline the admissions process.

There are 55 colleges and universities participating this year. They include technical, vocational, tribal, community and public or private four-year colleges and universities.

The process happens quickly this fall. We want to make sure you’re aware and don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Here are the steps:

  • Beginning during the week of September 22, your student should watch for an email from their MyPanthers email school account with next steps. The email will come from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (domain will be state.mn.us). The message will include a personalized list of colleges where the student already meets admissions criteria and can be directly admitted. This list provided is based on a review of your student’s transcript through 11th grade.
  • Students can select “yes” to be directly admitted to one or more colleges on their list. By selecting “yes,” the following information is shared with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education: Name, MARSS number, academic information, the high school transcript, contact information, gender, and birth date for direct admissions.
  • The Minnesota Office of Higher Education uses this information to notify colleges of your student’s direct admissions participation, waive application fees at the colleges, and provide colleges with your student’s contact information to complete the admissions process.
  • The colleges your student selected will be in contact to complete the free admissions process. Students can choose to complete the admissions process – or not.

The information provided as part of Direct Admissions Minnesota is available only to students and their parents/guardians, our school staff, the Office of Higher Education, the colleges each student selects, the Office of the Legislative Auditor, and upon court order. Students are not required to participate. Students can always choose to apply to any college through the college’s website, and there may be an application fee.

If you DO NOT wish to participate in Direct Admissions Minnesota, please contact your counselor and request to opt-out by September 18. Senior class counselors are:

  • Nour Ali, last names: A-C
  • Jennifer Blaido, last names: D-F
  • Heather Vranicar, last names: G-J
  • Angie Shea, last names: K-N
  • Yvonne Godber, last names: O-Sg
  • Troy Willemssen, last names: Sh-Z

Watch for the email, check out the Direct Admissions Minnesota website, and see the FAQ for more information.

We are excited for students to very directly see that they are college material and have an easy path to taking their next steps after high school.
