KMS NEWSLETTER

Dear KMS Families,
Thank you to all the students, families, and volunteers who made Friday Night Live a fantastic event! Your support and participation help make KMS a great place for our students.
We have several events happening this coming week! We've briefly listed them here, but for more detail, you can see the attached pdf letters.
School Climate and Connectedness Survey
First, we would like to encourage families to take part in this annual survey to share your thoughts on how we can continue improving our school environment. The survey is open until March 21, and families who complete it will be entered into a $50 gift card drawing. You can take the survey at home or stop by our survey station during conferences. Take the survey here. We value your opinion!
Parent-Teacher Conferences – March 12 & 13
This is a great opportunity to check in with teachers about your student’s progress!
- Wednesday, March 12 (4:30-7:30 PM): By appointment only for families who want dedicated time to meet with teachers. For more details, and to schedule an appointment, please refer to the attached conference letter.
- Thursday, March 13 (4:30-7:30 PM): Open house format—drop in anytime to visit with teachers. We invite you to enjoy a Pancit and Lumpia potluck dinner in the Commons while connecting with staff and other families. Sign up to bring a side dish. Thank you to our incredible PTSA for coordinating this dinner so that families can focus on the conferences instead of dinner plans.
End-of-Week Pep Rally
We’ll wrap up the week with a Staff vs. Students Pep Rally during 6th and 7th periods—always a fun and spirited event! This will be during our regular Friday schedule.
And finally, Spring Break begins Monday, March 17, and we’ll welcome students back on Monday, March 24.
We hope to see you at conferences this week!
Please check the attached PDFs for full details and additional links.

KMS WRESTLING
We are so proud of our middle school wrestlers this season.
Below are the Tanana results.
We had 1 champion, 1 runner up, 6 other placers, kids who overcame obstacles, and have seen tremendous growth in everyone over the season.
Great work KMS wrestling!
MRS. KING'S ART CLASS
Art students teach 3rd graders at Main Elementary how to block print.
Kodiak Middle School PTSA is beyond grateful for the amazing volunteers who made this past Friday Night Live event such a success! From the parents and staff who gave their time, to the students who stepped up to help, and to every individual who played a role—big or small—we could not have done it without you. Special shout-out to DJ Marc, who donated his services to keep the dance floor rockin' all night!
Your dedication, energy, and willingness to support our school community made the night run smoothly and created a fun and memorable experience for our students. Events like these bring us together, and it’s because of volunteers like you that we’re able to provide these opportunities for our kids.
💛💙🐻We appreciate you more than words can say—thank you for making a difference! 🐻💙💛
