SMILE SQUAD IS COMING TO AMS!

The DuPage County “Smile Squad” is coming to Albright Middle School on Monday, May 9th! The Smile Squad is a fully equipped dental truck that provides free dental services to all students, including a cleaning and sealants if needed. If your child participates, the Smile Squad will provide proof of an exam that meets the Illinois State school requirements. If you are interested in your child participating, please email verickson@saltcreek48.org or call the office and request that a consent form be sent home with your child.

NEW UPDATED INFORMATION FOR GRADUATION

Feed My Starving Children Field Trips

We are thrilled to be able to donate time at the FMSC facility in Schaumburg again. This is a field trip we took previously and the students loved it. Due to spacing restrictions, we can only take one grade level at a time. After we volunteer in the morning, we will be having lunch at Woodfield Mall’s food court. If you do not want your child to sit near other students when they have lunch, please let us know on the permission slip you will receive closer to the dates of the trips. We need additional adult supervisors for this event, so please let me know if you can help and which date you are interested in. We will be on this trip from 8:30am - 12:15pm on the following dates:

8th Grade - Monday, May 16th

6th Grade - Tuesday, May 17th

5th Grade - Thursday, May 19th

7th Grade - Tuesday, May 24th

THANK YOU

We would like to thank the District 48 community for your support of Family STEAM Night. It was so great to see people enjoying themselves again. We hope you had a wonderful time at the event and learned something new.

Thank you to the teachers, staff and faculty for your role in our event. Whether you hosted a table, helped with ideas behind the scenes, attended the event with your own family or assisted with the clean up, we appreciate you.

A huge thank you must go out to our sponsors: Dominick’s Pizza & Pasta and Lion’s Club of Oakbrook Terrace. Your generosity allowed us to have exciting exhibits and a great visual show. Thank you for supporting the wonderful students in District 48.

Attached are instructions for making bouncy balls at home with a few ingredients to extend your learning fun after school.

COMMUNICATION WITH OFFICE

Please make sure to notify Kate Beckwith if your child will be absent, arriving late, or being dismissed early. If you DO NOT call your student in to school they will be considered UNEXCUSED for their absence. It is helpful to contact your child's teacher in these matters as well, but it is very important to contact the office! If you have any test results from COVID testing or Doctor's notes, please send those to our nursing staff.
