Attention MVLA Parents

Thank you for a great carnival on Thursday! The students, staff, and parents worked hard to organize and run the event. The bubble ceremony was heart-felt and a beautiful tribute to Mrs. McCalley.

Thank you for your support as the teachers implement the new, restructured plan. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's teacher.

Do you love MVLA? If you would like to share a testimony, please email us your thoughts at tripke@alpineschools.net or your child's teacher. We would like to spread the word about our unique and amazing program.

PBIS Family Survey

AUSD schools follow a Positive Behavior and Supports (PBIS) model. We have three rules: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. We are surveying our 3rd-8th graders, the staff, and the parents to gather data to help improve our schools’ climates. Please take a few minutes to fill out the parent survey:

CUBS IN THE COMMUNITY

Mrs. Ripke will continue the Cubs in the Community tradition this school year. Her goal is to connect with 100 Cubs (Future, Former, or Current) by the 100th day of school. Building relationships with our students is important to us! If you see Mrs. Ripke out in the community, encourage your student to say hi. Not only does it create an opportunity to connect, it also supports students' language and communication skills. Follow the sightings on our FB page. Feel free to share our postings to spread the word. Mrs. Ripke looks out for future, current, and former Cubs! The sightings were slim this week. Be on the look out for Mrs. Ripke.

New Ways November

Join our AUSD family in utilizing resources at www.actionforhappiness.org. They have monthly themes and ideas to help keep us Happier-Kinder-Together!

This month, Action for Happiness is encouraging you to try something new! Learning something new or getting involved in an activity that really absorbs and interests us is great for our wellbeing. Keeping our brains active is not only good for us physically but it can help you feel you are flourishing as you see yourself make progress with a new skill, or just make you smile as you make a mess and decide to start again. :) Being playful and trying new things is important, as is remembering that it's OK not to get it right first time - change "I can't do it", into "I can't do it...yet!" This month's calendar is full of ideas to help you decide what to try next.

Spirit Days

Mondays College Spirit Day: wear your favorite college shirt

Wednesdays Mid-Week Mindfulness: wear a shirt with a positive message

Fridays School Spirit Day: wear your school shirt or school colors

Creekside currently has three part-time job openings: Preschool Teacher, EAK Teacher, and Child Nutrition Assistant.
