Dear Washington Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Washington Elementary! Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we’re excited to have you as part of our school family. We look forward to a year filled with growth, connection, and success for every student.

At Washington, our work is guided by a shared vision:
Through collaboration, we create a caring and supportive environment where all students will achieve their full potential in and out of the classroom.

To bring that vision to life, we are grounded in the following belief statements:

  1. Relationships matter.

  2. Student engagement leads to positive relationships and success.

  3. Students will reach their full potential when given challenging opportunities.

  4. We as educators grow through uncomfortable situations.

These beliefs shape how we approach each day and support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.

In addition, we continue to focus on the Washington Way: being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, Kind, and a Positive Influence. These expectations are woven into everything we do and help create a consistent, caring environment where all students can thrive.

We are excited to partner with you for a strong and successful school year. Thank you for your continued support and for trusting us with your child’s education.

With Wildcat pride,
Veronica Gale
Principal, Washington Elementary

Open House

🎒 Chalk the Block at Open House! 🎨

We’re excited to invite you to Washington Elementary’s Open House—a great opportunity to connect, celebrate the start of the year, and show off some Wildcat pride!

🖍️ As you visit your child’s classroom, they’ll receive a piece of sidewalk chalk to leave a colorful message or drawing outside as part of our “Chalk the Block” activity. Help us brighten up the sidewalks with encouraging words and back-to-school creativity!

While you’re here:

  • 👩‍🏫 Get to know your child's teacher and learn about classroom expectations

  • ❓ Ask questions you may have after the first couple days of school

  • 🏫 Take a tour of the building and meet our amazing staff

  • 📸 Snap a photo at our fun Back-to-School photo backdrop

📲 Don’t forget to share your pictures using #WashingtonChalkTheBlock so we can celebrate together!

We look forward to seeing you and continuing a strong start to the school year!

Hello, Wildcat Families!

Welcome back for another incredible year of growth together at Washington!!

I hope your family had a fun and relaxing summer. It's sure been a fantastic break but we're eager to get back to the grind and start growing!

5th Graders' parents: Please have your student consider the possibility of being a Washington Student Ambassador this year for additional leadership skills training. They'll be given information about that opportunity as we begin the new year.

One new thing I'll be doing this year is during Open House Night (Thursday, August 14). I'll have our IT specialist with me in my classroom that evening to share a bit about how to use our technology - Rooms, Parent Portal, etc. So if you have those questions, check out my room that evening! Room 10.

Again, we are excited to see you all and get back into a routine. Yes, you can read that as going to bed and waking earlier!
