Promises Made, Promises Kept!
Dear East China School District Community,
There is always a certain feeling that comes with the start of a new school year; the excitement of seeing familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and beginning another chapter together. I have to admit, Iām especially excited about this school year.
For the first time since 2020, we are starting a school year without major bond work or renovations taking place throughout our schools. There are still a few finishing touches and smaller projects to complete, but the major work is done. And what a journey it has been.
I am incredibly proud to say that we completed our bond projects within budget, kept our commitments to our community, and followed through on what we promised when our community approved the bond initiative.
Promises Made. Promises Kept!
That accomplishment did not happen by accident. It took countless hours, hard work, thoughtful planning, flexibility, patience, and a tremendous amount of teamwork. It truly took the entire ECSD team. From our staff and administrators to the operations and technology departments, teachers, support staff, contractors, and community partners.
I also want to recognize our community for your patience and support throughout this process. Major construction and renovation projects are not easy. They bring changes, inconveniences, questions, and plenty of moving pieces. Through it all, our community continued to believe in the vision and, most importantly, in our students.
Today, we can take a moment to appreciate what we have accomplished together. Our learning environments are better equipped to serve our students and staff.
After spending so much time, energy, and patience getting to this point, it feels good to finally take a breath. It feels good to walk through our schools and see the finished work. And it feels even better to know that we did it together.
But as exciting as it is to celebrate what we have accomplished, I believe the best part is what comes next. With the major bond work behind us, we can turn more of our attention toward the future of this incredible school district; toward teaching and learning, student success, innovation, opportunities for our students, and the many ways we can continue to make ECSD a place where every student can thrive.
Thank you for your trust, your patience, your partnership, and your continued support of our students and schools. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am even more excited about where we are headed.
Hereās to a great school year!
Promises Made. Promises Kept. Future Ahead!
Sincerely,
Suzanne Cybulla
