Board Appointment

February 12, 2025

The Bremerton School Board is pleased to welcome Ben Anderson as its newest School Board Director. He will fill the vacancy left by Director Carolynn Perkins' resignation last month.

Ben Anderson (photo, right) was born and raised in Bremerton and is a graduate of Bremerton High School. After graduating from the US Coast Guard Academy, he served 10 years in active duty and 10 additional years in the reserves before retiring in 2022. He is President/CEO of Art Anderson Associates, an engineering firm in downtown Bremerton. Ben and his wife have three children in the Bremerton School District and are both active in the community and Bremerton School District.

Ben will be sworn in at the regularly-scheduled Board meeting on February 20.

On behalf of the entire board, I want to extend our sincere gratitude to all the individuals who applied for the vacant position. We were truly impressed by the number of qualified and dedicated community members who expressed their interest in serving our students and schools.

The Board received a strong pool of applicants, each demonstrating a commitment to education and the Bremerton community. We appreciate the time and effort each candidate invested in the application process.

Sincerely,

John Paul Hurley
