Curriculum Night Curriculum Night

Following our annual Title 1 meeting and PTA dinner on September 17th, Hawk families are invited to stick around for Curriculum Night from 5:45–7:00 PM to learn more about what your student will be learning this year.

Our PTA will be providing food, while supplies last, so let us help with your dinner plans so you attend curriculum night.

What to Expect:

  • Curriculum Night is designed to give families flexibility to connect with the teachers and courses that matter most to their child.
  • Rather than following a set rotation, Curriculum Night will have a drop-in format, allowing families to move freely throughout the building and walk their child’s schedule at their own pace.
  • Families can spend their time connecting with the teachers they most want to see based on their child’s individual interests and needs.
  • Each teacher will provide an overview of the course, resources for learning, and how to support learning at home.

For conversations that require more time or a closer look at student performance, families will also have the opportunity to sign up for a future date and time for in-depth conferences with individual teachers.

We look forward to welcoming our families for an evening of connection and learning!

Digital Citizenship From Home Digital Citizenship From Home

This week in our digital citizenship lessons, our Hawks explored the important topics of cyberbullying and online harm. While each grade level participated in its own lesson, students practiced strategies for handling online drama, discussed the importance of being an upstander rather than a bystander, and considered how to respond when they encounter harmful speech online.

We invite families to continue these important conversations at home by exploring the family activity and tips sheet resources below, available in English and EspaΓ±ol, to help strengthen our Hawks’ digital citizenship skills and online awareness.

This year, Cartwheel offers individual therapy for students, parent and caregiver guidance, and new expanded Care Programs for specific challenges including school avoidance, screens and social media use, and intense emotions and behavior challenges.

Appointments are virtual and flexible, including evenings and weekends. Care is free with Medicaid, and most private insurances are accepted. Care is available in multiple languages, including Spanish.

Students will be issued a laptop for academic use during the school year. Students are expected to abide by the device user agreement while the laptop is issued to them. Please take time to read the FCS Student & Parent Device Handbook for important information. For Spanish, please see the attached PDF.

The parent/guardian is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement if a device or its accessories are damaged, not returned, lost, or stolen. The district provides parents/guardians the opportunity to purchase the optional device protection plan to limit the out-of-pocket cost to repair or replace damaged devices. The details of this can be found in the Optional Device Protection Plan portion of the FCS Student & Parent Device Handbook (pg. 10). Please visit Optional Device Protection - Fulton County School System for more information.

Parents can add the optional device protection plan in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal until September 25. The optional device protection plan is not active until the premium is paid.
