Attention District 30 parents and guardians! Saturday, September 12, District 30 will test our emergency notification system in the afternoon. Anyone listed under your child’s primary and secondary contacts, as well as the email address used to login into Parent Portal, should receive a voice notification, text and email.

If you need to update your telephone number or email address, please visit the ParentPortal. (Go to the Forms section of and choose the option that says “Update Contact Information for District Communications.”)

Now is also a is a great time to review Emergency Procedures page for parents that outlines weather emergency protocols in District 30 at district30.org/emergency. When winter weather approaches, District 30 would utilize our emergency notification system to announce any school closures, while also posting on our website and social media channels.

Wescott’s biggest fundraising event of the year! Wescott’s biggest fundraising event of the year!

We’re excited to announce that Walk 4 Wescott is coming to Wescott on Wednesday, October 7! 🎉 As our biggest fundraiser of the year, now is the time to start collecting donations! Walk 4 Wescott celebrates healthy habits, school spirit, and our amazing Wescott community.

But this event is about so much more than a walk—it’s an opportunity for our entire community to come together and show how much we care about our students, staff, school, and community. Funds raised through Walk 4 Wescott will go directly toward supporting Wescott and enriching our students’ school experience. Plus, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Erika’s Lighthouse, helping support important youth mental health education. Every student will receive one free raffle ticket! For every additional $20 raised, your student will earn another raffle ticket. If your company matches your donation, you can indicate the company match on Cheddar Up and upload your receipt. The matched amount will count toward your student’s fundraising total and help them earn additional raffle tickets!

Don’t forget to spread the word to family and friends who can support Wescott, too! When making a donation, simply select the student you’d like to receive credit for the donation. Raffle tickets will be distributed to students on October 7! Prizes this year include experience packages from places like Dreams Gymnastics, Dave and Busters, Schaumburg Boomers, Two Hours of Freedom, Urban Air, Puttshack! Students will also have the opportunity to win a ride to school on a firetruck thanks to Northbrook Fire Department as well as a 20” Trek Bike donated by George Garner Cyclery! We are so excited to showcase the prizes this year and we have several prizes that will have several winners!

Click HERE to donate by Tuesday, October 6!

Any time a student feels unsafe, any adult in their school can help!

But sometimes, students or parents wish to reach out for help in a different way or after school hours. Safe2Help Illinois offers students a safe way to share information 24/7 that might help prevent any threat to school safety, including bullying, self-harm or other serious concerns.

The goal of this program is to get students to “seek help before harm;" it is not intended to suspend, expel, or punish. Safe2Help Illinois also offers a Mental Health Toolkit that provides resources for parents and educators reinforce the components of this program.

Safe2Help Illinois offers around-the-clock help via:

  • Hotline: 844-4-SAFEIL
  • Text line: 72332
  • Email HELP@Safe2HelpIL.com
  • Plus a website full of resources for young people seeking help for themselves or a friend. Its Ways To Get Help page is a directory of specialized hotlines, and other sections of its website provide practical steps for dealing with depression or helping a distraught friend.
