Scheduling Meetings for 2026–2027
Counselors will be meeting with each grade level on Wednesday, February 25 to review course options and scheduling information for next school year.
Meetings will take place in the PAC during the following periods:
9th Grade: 2nd Period
10th Grade: 3rd Period

Students will be called down by grade level during the appropriate class period. Be ready to report to the PAC when your grade is announced.
Benchmark/STAAR Testing
On upcoming Benchmark and STAAR testing days, CMHS will run a modified schedule and only half of the school day will meet after testing is complete. Please review the dates below so you know which classes will meet.
On Afternoon Class days, students will attend 5th–8th periods beginning at 12:00 PM.
On Morning Class days, students will attend 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st periods (in that order). We will still run 5th period for lunch.
March 5 – US History/Biology Benchmark: Morning Classes
March 6 – Algebra I Benchmark: Afternoon Classes
April 7 – English I & II EOC: Afternoon Classes
April 15 – US History/Biology EOC: Morning Classes
April 22 – Algebra I EOC: Afternoon Classes
If you have a senior free first period, that free period will move to the end of the day on Morning Class schedule dates. If you are not testing on a designated day, you will not have to arrive until 11:30. Please plan ahead for these schedule adjustments.
CMHS will host Open House and the Freshman Showcase on February 25 from 5:00–6:30 PM in the cafeteria. From 5:00–5:30 PM, current students and their families can visit with teachers and learn more about classes and programs. From 5:30–6:30 PM, incoming ninth graders and their families can explore courses, electives, and extracurriculars as they plan schedules and four year plans. The event will be set up college fair style, with tables representing classes and programs. If you know an incoming freshman, invite them to come check out everything CMHS has to offer. Freshmen and their families will have a program put on by our counselors to explain and answer any questions about course selection from 6:30-7:00 in the PAC.
