West Belmar
WB In the Bear Cave

Mid-October 2026
A Message From Principal Abeal
Dear West Belmar Families,
I hope this message finds you well as we continue to enjoy the beautiful fall season. It’s an exciting time at our school with several upcoming events that celebrate community, culture, and fun!
Next week, we will be recognizing Unity Week from October 19th to 23rd, a time to promote kindness, inclusion, and unity within our school. On October 21st, we will celebrate unity by wearing Wall Gear or red, white and to highlight the importance of standing together and fostering a positive, inclusive school environment in Wall Township.
On Thursday, October 29th, our Bear Cubs will be celebrating Los Días de Muertos, a beautiful tradition to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. The students have been working hard on special projects for this day, and we invite you to visit our ofrenda, which will be on display.
Finally, to cap off the month, don’t miss our annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st at 1:50 PM. Students are welcome to bring their costumes to school, and we can’t wait to see the creative, spooky, and fun outfits as we parade around the school grounds!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making our school such a vibrant community.
We look forward to seeing you at these events and celebrating together!

Attendance Matters at the WB!
Why Every Day Matters
Good attendance lays the foundation for a child’s academic success. When students attend school regularly, they keep up with class lessons, build confidence, and develop strong relationships with teachers and peers. Even just two absences per month (about 10% of the school year) can create gaps in learning and make it harder to catch up. We encourage families to make every effort to have students present and on time, because every day really does add up. We need our "Bear Cubs in the Cave"!
