Hands-on Learning

Students practiced their metric measurement skills by finding a gummy bear's length, volume, mass, and density. Stay tuned for next week's lab where students will observe changes to their gummy bears and defend using their observations and measurements if the change was due to a physical or chemical change.

Science Labs

Students used microscopes to observe living and nonliving samples up to 400 times larger. They used their observations to spot patterns that differentiate living samples from nonliving objects (namely the presence of cells and highly organized nature of living things).
