Eagle Update

Tomorrow will be an exciting end to the month! Thank you for the amazing turnout we had for Parent Conferences last week! I know this was a fantastic opportunity for parents and teachers to connect on the learning that has taken place so far this year. Our AG students are doing an incredible job engaging in the lessons and activities the teachers are planning which are allowing them to soar to new heights!

Don't forget that Daylight Savings will be ending this weekend, so make sure to turn those clocks back and enjoy the extra hour of sleep. With the rainy days and gloomy afternoons here for the next few months, please help us to remind students that they need to walk their scooters and bicycles to the bike racks as soon as they arrive on school property. We have buses with ramps down in our front drop off and those ramps can be hard to see when students are biking or scooting. The rain, umbrellas, and extra cars can also make it difficult for drivers to see riders and vice versa so we want to ensure everyone is safe while arriving and leaving campus.

Remember that there is no school for students on Monday, November 10. Our teaching staff will be utilizing the day to focus on professional development and digging into our curriculum resources to plan for Trimester 2. There will also be no school on Tuesday, November 11 to honor the Veteran's Day holiday.

On Thursday, November 20, we will be holding a Movie Night fundraiser for the Morad family. Admission to Cars will be free and concessions will be available for purchase using cash or Venmo. Please note: all children must be accompanied by an adult for the full event. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and/or low chairs for watching the movie. Doors will open at 5:30 and the movie will begin at 6:00.

We will also have our Candy Buy Back Week happening all next week. Feel free to bring in any unwanted candy throughout the week to add to our overall school total.

Candy Buy Back is back in a big way and Archer Glen is eager to defend or exceed its 2024 2nd
place position! We seriously need your help to make this happen! All candy is due back to the
office by 11/7.

In addition to your home’s leftover candy, we encourage families to reach out to neighbors and
family to donate any extra candy they have. Last year we won 2nd place with 161lbs of candy
which amounted to $461!

The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.

Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).

ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!
