Cross country families,

We are looking forward to a great season ahead! A few reminders and focal points for everyone before the parent meeting and first official practice on August 4th:

1. Find your "why". Once you find this it will help you in those tough moments/run/workouts during the season. Likewise if you don't have a "why" the season really becomes unproductive and meaningless. It can be to become a better version of yourself, lose weight, be faster, stronger mentally, healthier or anything that makes you better and is YOURS. It's such a great way to grow.

2. Bring your best everyday. When you commit to a team, you become one. By focusing on bringing your best everyday you help elevate yourself and those around you. Some days it might not be much, other days you might feel you have more to give. All we ask is your best effort each and every day, however that looks.

3. Know your role, and execute your role. Everyone has a role on the team, whether your parent athlete or coach. Not everyone can be the fastest, best leader, strongest or a state team member but we can be a greatest teammate, best supportive parent, most encouraging, and or helper. Find your role and execute it to the best of your ability.

4. We are a cross country family. We have a great family! Lean on each other in times of need. Be the leader and set the example at home and in your classrooms. Challenge, support and lift each other up. That's what a family does. On the flip side, keep gossip and negativity at bay - this is a distraction and keeps us from bringing out the best in our athlete and each other.

If we do these things this season, we will be successful regardless if we "win or lose". Now let's get after it!
