Hola, Panther Families!

As we walked through classrooms this week, we were excited to see inspirational teaching, engaged students, and a strong community of learners. We are so grateful that you share your children with us each day. Mesa families deserve an excellent education provided by caring, dedicated teachers and staff, and we are proud to be part of your child’s educational journey.

Everyday Counts! At Mesa, attendance is an important part of student success. Every day, every child, attendance matters! When students are at school consistently, they have more opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. With strong attendance, our Panthers will continue to thrive!

Get Involved at Mesa! Parents, we want you to be involved! With the help of Ms. Vega, we are working toward establishing a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) at Mesa.

The goal of the PTSA is to bring parents, teachers, and students together around one common purpose: the success of our Mesa students. By working as a team, we can create an even stronger school community and provide our students with the support they need to succeed.

Panther Spirit Is Growing!

Come out and show your Panther pride as we cheer on Big Green! See you in the stands!!

  • Saturday: Mesa Volleyball takes on Sierra Middle School at Mesa.
    • 7th Grade: 10:00 a.m.
    • 8th Grade: 11:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday: Mesa Football Wool Bowl.

Get Involved and Get Connected! We encourage every student to get involved in school activities. Participation in sports, band, choir, orchestra, Latinos in Action, Mesa Student Council, and other clubs gives students opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and lifelong friendships.

Encourage your child to grow strong, get involved, and stay focused. Their future is bright, and we are excited to help them reach their full potential!

✈️ Taking Flight in the Classroom!

Students in Mr. Hollon’s Basic Computer and Computer Programming classes are taking learning to new heights with our Basics of Flight STEM Unit!

This week, students are exploring the science behind flight, including air pressure, airflow, drag, and the four forces of flight: lift, weight, thrust, and drag. Through hands-on investigations, videos, group activities, and classroom demonstrations, students are learning how engineers use observation, testing, and problem-solving to understand and improve aircraft design.

Students have participated in activities such as the Drag Detective Challenge, where they tested how the position and shape of an object affect air resistance, and Flight Scenario Challenges, where they apply the four forces of flight to takeoff, cruising, slowing down, descending, and turning.

Our goal is to connect technology, science, engineering, collaboration, and critical thinking while giving students opportunities to predict, test, observe, and explain.

The big question we're investigating:

What makes an airplane fly? ✈️

Attendance Counts

Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school each day. Every absence means missed learning time, and consistent attendance is essential for academic growth.

Attendance also supports students’ social well-being, confidence, and growth mindset. When students are present and engaged, they have more opportunities to connect with others and continue building the habits that lead to success.
