Solar Eclipse Day
Solar Eclipse Day
Monday, April 8 there will be a solar eclipse. Parents are required to fill out the solar eclipse permission slip for each student they have attending Smith. We will be providing glasses for each student to view the solar eclipse safely. Please remind your child that they will have to wear their glasses the WHOLE time we are outside. Teachers will be giving students directions about the glasses before going outside, but it would be helpful for them to hear it from you as well!

END OF KINDERGARTEN GOAL!
Thank you so much for your continued support and involvement in your child's education. We wanted to share with you the kindergarten goals for the end of the year. Please find the attached images for reference. These goals represent what your child should be able to accomplish in order to be considered on level.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress, please don't hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your partnership in helping your child thrive academically.
Lost and Found
Check Lost and Found Before and After School: We kindly remind you to check the Lost and Found area before and after school if your child has misplaced any items. Our Lost and Found is currently overflowing with clothing, water bottles, and other belongings.
Email Teacher for Missing Items: If your child misplaces something, please email their teacher as soon as possible. Our teachers are here to support your child in finding their missing items. Please include a description of the item and any relevant details in your email. Please also make sure all items are labeled clearly with your child's first and last name.
Visitor Badge Policy: For the safety of all students and staff, we kindly request that parents and guardians do not walk down to classrooms without a visitor badge when checking the lost and found. This ensures that we can identify everyone on campus and maintain a secure environment.

Shoes and Jackets!
- Please work with your child so they are learning to tie their own shoes! This helps the teacher and the student.
- If your child cannot tie their own shoes, double tie your child's shoes or please send them with shoes that do not have laces!
- Please practice putting on AND zipping up your child's jacket so that they can put it on independently for brain break and recess.
