The Homework Menu is sent home each Monday, and it is due by Friday (signed) each week. Each week your child will select and complete eight activities on the menu. The menu is the same for the entire month so a bit of encouragement may be needed to pick different activities. It is ok to place an X or your initials on the activities chosen to keep track of what they have done. Please sign the menu at the bottom. If a child completes his/her homework and returns the menu, then they will be entered into the Homework Lottery to earn Dojo Points. You may keep the practice at home or return it to school. The homework isn't graded it is for the practice and family interaction. Periodically students will have spelling words to practice. Remember you can complete the book borrowing sheet and your child will bring home some books at their reading level. The books can be returned at anytime during the week or on Fridays.
The month of October is Fire Awareness Month and this year the theme is smoke detectors.
Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather as we will go outside for recess as long as it is 20 degrees "feels like" temperature and/or precipitation-free. They should have a heavy coat, gloves, and a hood or hat, please. If you need something, please ask.
Students may keep a sweatshirt, sweater, or hoodie at school for when they are cool inside the school.

Please note that all Birthday treats must be store bought and individually wrapped. Food Birthday treats need to be brought to school to share during our lunch time (10:30-11:00). If a student is Bringing non-food Birthday treats then they can be dropped off at the office or sent to school with the student. These will be distributed during the closing community circle. All students will receive a Birthday treat, and the class will sing Happy Birthday to them if they want them to.
