Last week, Ms. VanSlooten's 3rd grade class at Alward Elementary School got to use Vex kits for the first time. The students learned about simple machines in STEAM and built a wheel and axle.

The City of Hudsonville Government will be honoring Dave Bolhuis, a retired Hudsonville High School teacher, for his significant positive impact on the Hudsonville community. He has served on nearly every city board and committee and is passionate about the community’s park and recreation programs. Bolhuis was the area’s first summer recreation director (a precursor to the Hudsonville Community Education program) and was instrumental in the creation of the Hudsonville Nature Center. A well-deserved recognition indeed! #fireupgoeagles
