Beal City Bulletin
October 11, 2026
From the Principal's Desk
This past week, Beal City students and staff participated in the districtwide Apple Crunch! It was a great opportunity to come together and celebrate Michigan agriculture.
On Monday, our teachers spent the day working on curriculum across all subject areas. Staff also received training on a new data tool that will help us make more informed instructional decisions, both in the short term and as we plan for the future. We appreciate the time and effort our teachers continue to put into improving instruction for our students.
Through last Friday, our Average Daily Attendance for the school year is 96.3%! This is a great start to the year, and we appreciate the commitment our students and families have made to being at school each day. Let's keep it up!
Looking ahead, we have a four-day school week with no school on Friday. We also look forward to welcoming families for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. These conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with teachers, celebrate student successes, and discuss areas for continued growth.
Thank you for your continued support of Beal City. We look forward to another great week!

Happening Around Campus
A big thank you to Officer Dan Robinson from the Michigan DNR for visiting our students and leading their Hunter Safety Field Day!
Students received hands-on training in tree stand safety, safe firearm carrying techniques, firearm safety mechanisms, and Michigan hunting laws and regulations.
Officer Robinson will return Tuesday to administer the state certification test, giving students the opportunity to earn their Hunter Safety Certification.
Thank you, Officer Robinson, for sharing your time and expertise with our Aggies!
MiCareerQuest Middle Michigan
On Friday, our 10th-grade students, along with Mrs. Millerov and Mr. Snow, attended MiCareerQuest Middle Michigan at Saginaw Valley State University's Ryder Center!
Students had the opportunity to explore careers through hands-on activities, meet industry professionals, and learn about opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Construction, Health Sciences, Information Technology, and more!
Experiences like these help students connect what they're learning in school to the real world, discover new interests, and start thinking about what their futures might hold.
A great day of exploration for our Aggies!
New York Student Leadership Trip
Applications for a student leadership trip to New York are now available. 8 students and 2 chaperones will travel to New York on March 9-12 for a cultural and historical experience. If selected, students will be responsible for $350 towards the cost of the trip. The remaining cost will be covered by a generous tribal grant.. Fundraising opportunities are available. Students in grades 9-12 wishing to apply may pick up applications from the high school office. Applications are due on October 14.
Side-by-Side and UTV Safety
We have several students driving side-by-sides and UTVs to school. Students must follow all applicable laws and school safety expectations when bringing these vehicles onto school property.
Students who are not legally permitted to operate these vehicles should not drive them to school.
Any student who operates a side-by-side, UTV, or other vehicle unsafely on school property may lose the privilege of driving or parking any vehicle on school grounds.
Please review these expectations with your student. Our priority is keeping everyone safe as students arrive at and leave school.
Middle School Incentive Day: Friday, October 30
We are excited to introduce Middle School Incentive Day, a quarterly opportunity to recognize and reward students who are meeting classroom expectations and staying on top of their schoolwork.
Our first Incentive Day will take place on Friday, October 30, beginning after lunch. Students who have met their teachers' expectations will enjoy an afternoon of activities, including a seasonal movie, board games, a tech lounge, open gym, and snacks. Students who have not met the requirements will participate in a supervised study hall, providing additional time to complete assignments and get caught up.
Each teacher has established expectations related to grades, missing assignments, and classroom responsibilities. These requirements are posted in classrooms and on Google Classroom. The deadline to submit late or missing work is Friday, October 23. Middle school families have also received an email outlining the full details and important dates.
Incentive Day will take place once each quarter, with consistent expectations throughout the school year. Each quarter provides a fresh opportunity for students to qualify, reinforcing the importance of effort, responsibility, and academic progress.
A special thank you to Krapohl Ford for sponsoring our first Incentive Day! Their generosity helps us celebrate our students and their hard work. Businesses or organizations interested in sponsoring a future Incentive Day are encouraged to contact Kayla Hernandez at khernandez@bealcityschools.net.
