High School Scheduling Information for 8th Grade Parents
We invite you to a presentation on Monday, February 2nd from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Strongsville High School Auditorium. During this presentation, high school counselors will go over scheduling information with parents and answer questions. For your reference, you can view the 2025-2026 SHS Program of Studies as a guide. In the coming weeks, the SHS Program of Studies 2026-2027 will be available.
There will be a College Credit Plus (CCP) online meeting on Thursday, February 5th at 6:00 pm for students and parents. Use this link to join this VERY IMPORTANT meeting. Students interested in earning college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities for free, should attend this virtual meeting. If you cannot attend, the meeting will be recorded and posted about a week later. Students interested in participating in the CCP program next year must have their letter of intent form completed online by April 1, 2026. (This form will not be available until after this meeting takes place and you will be able to find it online on the SHS Counseling Webpage)
#FOREVERAMUSTANG - NOMINATIONS FOR SHS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI
Know an SHS graduate that has accomplished great things? We are looking to recognize alumni that have made a significant impact in their professional career and/or in their community and are currently accepting nominations for the SHS Distinguished Alumni - Class of 2026. Fill out THIS FORM to nominate a deserving SHS graduate for this honor. This year’s selected class of Distinguished Alumni will be recognized at a special event in April 2026.
AP Research Study
An AP Research student from Strongsville High School would like to conduct a research study on 8th grade students who take Honors English Language Arts and/or Honors Math. Her study seeks to understand classroom collaboration patterns by using two short surveys for each student. In order to successfully make this happen, she will need to receive parent/guardian consent for 8th graders who are interested in contributing to her study. The study would take place over the next couple of weeks with the help of 8th grade teachers, and your parental consent will be required if/when your child wishes to participate. We hope to gain support for this student researcher who is interested in advancing the field of social psychology with her findings at Strongsville Middle School.
Voyager Corner
Welcome to Voyager Corner. SMS offers a wide selection of engaging encore classes (Art, Music, P.E., FCS, Polaris, Career Connections, Technology, and so much more). All of our encore teachers are part of the Voyager Team and we'd like to highlight some of the amazing things happening at SMS in our Voyager courses. For our first feature, we're sharing the special Reindeer Games event that was hosted on Dec. 5th during the SMS Gives Back Day. All grade levels participated in some fun holiday-themed Reindeer Games where students competed and collaborated together through various team building activities. SCS Financial Fast Facts
Please click HERE for the first edition of the Financial Fast Facts Newsletter from our District's Treasurer, Mr. George Anagnostou.
Over the last two school years, as part of the District's strategic plan, we launched Financial Fast Facts to keep our community informed about Strongsville City Schools' finances. What began as informative infographics evolved into a video series and now we are adding this newsletter.
This newsletter features information about the recent fall forecast, which was presented and approved by the Board of Education at their September 25, 2025 meeting and submitted to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
We hope this newsletter helps to further explain our District's finances. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please reach out to the SCS Treasurer's Office (ganagnostou@scsmustangs.org / 440.572.7021).
