Panther News - Weekly Update

Hello, Panther Families!

What an incredible first week of competition for Shadow Ridge athletics! Our football and volleyball players represented SRMS with tremendous skill, energy, and school pride during their opening games. Shoutout to all of our athletes, coaches, and cheerleaders for setting such a strong tone for the season.

As we jump into a short week following the Labor Day holiday, check out the calendar below for our upcoming games, fine arts events, and district reminders. Let's keep the strong momentum going!

From all of us,

Next Friday, September 11th, marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, designated as Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

We invite all SRMS students and staff to wear red, white, and blue as we honor our nation's heroes, thank our first responders, and celebrate the spirit of unity and service that brings our community together.

We need your assistance in keeping non-instructional items and toys at home so our students can stay focused in class.

If your student uses a fidget tool, please review our campus guidelines:

• Size: Must be smaller than the palm of the hand.

• Sound: Must be 100% silent (no clickers, noise-making cubes, or loud popping toys).

• Approval: Must be approved by a teacher or administrator.

• Sharing: Fidgets may never be shared, traded, or passed between students.

Collection Policy for Unapproved Items:

• First Time: Collected and returned to the student at the end of the day.

• Second Time: Collected and held in the front office for parent pickup only.

We appreciate your support in maintaining a productive learning environment for all students!

Small acts can make a massive difference at Shadow Ridge! Kindness Week is coming soon, and we are challenging every Panther to help build a culture of compassion.

Panther Kindness Challenges:

1. Include Someone New: Invite someone sitting alone at lunch or during advisory to join your group.

2. Help Without Being Asked: Lend a hand to a teacher cleaning up a classroom or help a peer carry their supplies.

Look out for more details next week on how we’ll be celebrating together across campus!

Dust off your Western Wear and break out the hairspray for Crazy Hair, we have a full lineup of spirit days planned for Red Ribbon Week, and our weekly game days.
