North Lake Family,
The week of September 23rd to 27th is Homecoming week for North Lake ECHS! I always get excited when we have Homecoming Week because of the buzz around campus of students trying to stay with the theme, who has the best costume, and planning their arrival times for the Homecoming Dance! It's a fun environment that is all student-led and I’m happy they have taken the initiative to start this tradition of Homecoming at North Lake ECHS.
Thank you to all the parents and community members who were able to attend our Title I meeting in our Coffee with the Principal series this week! I also invite you to our first PTA meeting this coming Monday. Your support is greatly appreciated and valued throughout the school year.
Let’s look forward to this Homecoming Week at North Lake ECHS and thank you for your support of our students, staff, and community!

¡La semana del 23 al 27 de septiembre es la semana de regreso a casa en North Lake ECHS! Siempre me emociono cuando tenemos la semana de regreso a casa debido al revuelo en el campus de los estudiantes que intentan seguir el tema, quién tiene el mejor disfraz y planifican sus horarios de llegada para el baile de regreso a casa. Es un entorno divertido que está dirigido por los estudiantes y estoy feliz de que hayan tomado la iniciativa de comenzar esta tradición de regreso a casa en North Lake ECHS.
¡Gracias a todos los padres y miembros de la comunidad que pudieron asistir a nuestra reunión de Título I en nuestra serie Café con el director esta semana! También los invito a nuestra primera reunión de la PTA el próximo lunes. Su apoyo es muy apreciado y valorado durante todo el año escolar.

As we move into this exciting part of the school year, we wanted to share some important updates and reminders:
**Academic Planning**: We have begun meeting with students to complete academic meetings! These meetings are crucial to ensure students are on a structured path to achieving their educational goals! Some highlights of the meeting include discussing graduation requirements, postsecondary preparedness, and career exploration!
**Mental Health Resources**: We understand that balancing school, activities, and personal life can be overwhelming. Our school offers various mental health resources, including individual and group counseling services and more. Don’t hesitate to visit the counselor's office if you need support.
**College Information and Applications**: Seniors, be sure to meet with Mr. Matney! He plays a vital role in supporting you as you apply to college or one on one support in selecting the best program for you!
If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact your grade level counselor! Let’s work together to ensure that this school year is a successful and positive experience for everyone.
Beginning on the first day of school (August 12, 2024), all students will be expected to adhere to the the North Lake Early College dress code and uniform policy.
Wednesday will be "uniform day" On Uniform Wednesdays, students are required to wear their ECHS uniform shirt, black slacks, khaki slacks or a skirt (no shorter than “finger-tip length” with arms in normal position, i.e., arms hanging naturally, as student is standing straight and upright).
New this year will be a special Senior Only Uniform of grey slacks or Grey/Blue plaid skirt with the North Lake ECHS uniform shirt or Senior Shirt!
North Lake ECHS Uniform can be purchased at Levine's two locations or via their website https://levinesstores.com/collections/north-lake-early-college-high-school.
Students will be required to follow the North Lake Dress Code on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please see the image below which outlines the do's and don'ts.
All students will be required to have clear or mesh backpacks for the 24/25 school year, small personal non clear bags are allowed. Dallas ISD will provide all students with one free clear back from the school year. I would recommend the mesh bag as they are more durable for the year. Each student will receive a new backpack during 1st period on 8/12/24.
