Judy Center Early Learning Hub
at Grasonville Elementary School
Are you ready for the new school year to begin? ๐ ๐ต
Dear Families,
Like many of you, we find ourselves with mixed emotions. Although we all have children at different ages, many parents share the same questions and emotions that carry through all of the school years. From elementary to the dreaded freshman year of college, we are riddle with wondering:
- What will it be like?
- Will they be okay in a new school?
- Will they find their group of friends?
- How will they do in their classes?
- What is my role?
- How did we get into the final year in this school already?
- Are the going to be ready for the next learning experience?
- What can we do to support their transition?
- Should we be nervous?
- Will they have friends in their classes?
- What if they have trouble in one of the classes?
- Will they be challenged enough?
- Will they have as much fun this year as they did last year?
- Will they like their teachers?
- How do I ask questions about something I heard at the bus stop/work?
- And againโฆ. What is my role?
However, we hope you also share feelings that override everything else: pride and excitement! Be proud of all that they have accomplished from their own hard work, perseverance, and resilience. They have learned so much from their successes and challenges in academic and social settings. We understand that each school year brings new learning adventures and social experiences, and we are here to assistedโฆ. And are so excited for what the new school year will offer!
We celebrate diversity and practice inclusivity. Every child is embraced for who they truly are and will be taught with a focus on fostering mutual trust, respect, and high expectations every playgroup. We spent time reviewing our school data, reviewing our practices to determine how we could continue to grow as a staff, participating in professional development activities, and identifying opportunities to improve the learning environment for students. We have challenged ourselves to make sure that all of our students have equal opportunities for success and high expectations to enter school ready to learn. Our goal is to be inclusive for students and families to participate in learning experiences and access resources. While also continuing to identify opportunities to improve communication and provide information throughout the year.
As we look forward to the 2024-25 school year, we are committed to collaborating with all our partners. We know effective effort leads to great achievements. We continue to collaborate and plan as we pursue the answer to this question: What needs to happen to ensure ALL CHILDREN are successful inside the classroom and beyond?
We look forward to greeting all of our new and returning students/families. It is our hope that you will visit often and continue to be active in your childโs learning. Your support, cooperation, and involvement will ensure that this school year will be a successful one for all.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer. See you soon! ๐
