Mesquite Elementary

Week of November 25, 2024 and December 2, 2024
Notes from Norburg
Dear Mesquite Elementary Families,
This week I would like to highlight and say thank you to our amazing PTSO that continually goes above and beyond in every activity they plan for the campus! Fall Festival was a huge success this past Friday and this would not have been possible without our amazing parent volunteers! Planning for the Fall Festival began months ago and this is part of what contributes to the success of this event! We are grateful for the many parent volunteers and staff who supported by volunteering before, during, and after the event! This year we were so grateful to have the support of GPS Security as well as Gilbert High School AFJROTC Cadets! In addition to this we were impressed by the number of Student Council Students who signed up and helped at the event which included staying until well after Fall Festival had ended to help clean up! So thankful to strong community events! Thank you to all who joined for an evening of fun at the Fall Festival!
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is currently open! As you start thinking about junior highs for next year, please know that we feed into Greenfield Junior High School, South Valley Junior High School, and students have the option to apply to Gilbert Accelerated Middle School at Gilbert High School, Gilbert Classical Academy, and/or Gilbert, Talented, and Creative Program at Highland Junior High School.
We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. Please know how grateful we are for the Mesquite Community!
Sincerely,
Wendy Norburg
Celebrating Students Being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!
Gilbert Town Council Student Citizen of the Month Award
Way to go Audrey!
Mrs. Flores reports I chose to nominate Audrey Dulberg as Student Citizen of the month because she is an absolute joy to have in our classroom! There isn’t a day that goes by that she isn’t putting others before herself. She is kind, caring, generous, very funny and just has a way about her that makes others feel good!
Just last Friday, for instance, we were about to have our Fun Friday time at the end of our day, a time that all students look so forward to, but also must earn. Audrey noticed that a classmate had some unfinished work to do before they could have their Fun Friday and she asked if she could go help them instead…choosing to give up her own free time. That is truly Audrey in a nutshell! Thinking of others before herself!
Not only is Audrey kind, funny and caring but a knowledgeable girl when it comes to farm life! She lives on a farm with her family and is always happy to share her yummy farm treats, homegrown vegetables and beautiful flowers with the whole school! She also has become our “go to girl” when it comes to any question nature-related…this girl certainly knows her stuff! ;) Our entire class has learned so much, myself included!
Audrey is so deserving of this award for all the laughs, smiles and joy she brings to our classroom! We LOVE you, Audrey!
