A Message From Dr. Lisa Krueger...

Turning Vision into Results

Over the past two years, our school district has made tremendous progress, guided by a shared vision for the future and an unwavering commitment to student success. Together, we have developed a comprehensive District Strategic Plan that provides a clear roadmap for continuous improvement while creating a Long-Range Facilities Plan to ensure our schools meet the needs of current and future generations.

One of our most significant accomplishments has been the creation of a thoughtful elementary school reconfiguration plan to balance enrollment across our buildings, creating more equitable learning opportunities for all students. We also celebrated the community's approval of two capital improvement projects totaling nearly $89 million. These investments will enhance learning environments while responsibly maintaining our facilities for years to come.

While these milestones are important, our greatest source of pride continues to be the accomplishments of our students. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic fields, or on the stage, our students continue to excel academically, athletically, and in the visual and performing arts. Their achievements are a reflection of their hard work and the dedication of the educators and families who support them every day.

Our strategic planning efforts are already producing meaningful results. We are especially proud to have recently received two academic accolades celebrating the impressive growth of our elementary students, an affirmation that the investments we are making in teaching and learning are paying dividends.

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our community. Thank you for believing in our schools and investing in our future. And, of course, thank you to our teachers, staff, administrators, and Board of Education for their dedication to serving our students. Together, we are turning our vision into reality and building an even brighter future for every student.

With West Seneca Pride,

Dr. Lisa Krueger

๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’šCONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2026!๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’š

On June 22nd and 23rd, our community came together to celebrate the commencement of the incredible Class of 2026.

This is a graduating class that has truly excelled in every arena. They have shined brightly on our stages in award-winning musicals and concerts, and they have deeply impressed us with their athleticism, grit, and teamwork on the court, field, rink, and in the pool. Beyond their talents, their hearts for service have defined them: our Warhawks raised thousands of dollars for cancer research, and our Trojans stepped up to transform our local community through powerful service projects.

Most importantly, the Class of 2026 has excelled academically, keeping a commitment to learning and leadership at the very center of everything they do.

While we look forward to the bright futures ahead of them, milestones like graduation naturally call us to look back. It feels like just yesterday that these independent young adults were small children taking their first steps through our elementary school hallways.

To honor that journey, we are incredibly proud to share a look back at our seniors visiting their old stomping grounds - walking the very halls where their love for learning first began. Seeing how much they have grown from wide-eyed children into the leaders of tomorrow is a powerful reminder that together, as an educational community, we can achieve anything.

To the Class of 2026: Your hard work has made us profoundly proud, your stories have inspired us, and your futures are exceptionally bright. Congratulations on this magnificent milestone!

West Middle Students Bring Compassion and Community Service to Local Seniors

A remarkable collaboration at West Middle School recently brought students and local senior citizens together for a meaningful community service project.

Earlier this month, members of the West Middle Yorkers Club teamed up with School Resource Officer Abby Quick, to organize a supply drive dedicated to creating emergency kits for senior citizens in the West Seneca community. Inspired by SRO Quick, the students took complete ownership of the initiative - collaboratively writing morning announcements, designing eye-catching promotional flyers, and managing donation collections before classes each morning.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and hard work of the school community, the students successfully assembled 37 comprehensive emergency kits. Each kit was thoughtfully packed with essential items, including:

  • Medical & Safety Supplies: Bandages, gauze pads, cold packs, tweezers, and batteries.

  • Health & Comfort Items: Hand sanitizer, lip balm, and travel-size pill containers.

  • Activities: Playing cards and puzzle books to keep spirits bright.

The project culminated in a heartwarming event on Friday, May 29, when SRO Quick arranged for several local senior citizens to visit West Middle School. In a proud moment, the Yorkers Club students personally presented the completed kits to their guests. The face-to-face meeting gave students the wonderful opportunity to connect deeply with community members and see the direct, positive impact of their hard work.

The Yorkers Club extends its sincere gratitude to SRO Quick for introducing this impactful project to the group. Building on this semester's incredible success, the club is already planning a similar community service initiative for the upcoming fall.

Thank you to our exceptional West Middle students and staff for exemplifying what it means to lead with empathy and community spirit!

Battle of the Books: A Page-Turning Success!

We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon celebrating our brilliant elementary students at the 4th Annual District-Wide Battle of the Books competition! Hosted by our fantastic WS School Librarians at the West Seneca Public Library, the energy in the room was palpable.

Over 100 dedicated 4th and 5th-grade students from all five of our elementary schools participated in the Battle of the Books club this year. To make it to the grand final, 23 final competitors had to work incredibly hard - reading, re-reading, and masterfully analyzing five different books just to win their individual school-based competitions!

Please join us in giving a massive round of applause to our top three finalist teams:

  • ๐Ÿ† 1st Place: The Reading Raptors (Allendale Elementary) - Securing the championship for the third consecutive year!

  • ๐Ÿฅˆ 2nd Place: The Book Battlers (Clinton Elementary)

  • ๐Ÿฅ‰ 3rd Place: The River Readers (Northwood Elementary)

After the final page was turned and the scores were settled, the students transitioned from competitors to fast friends. They celebrated their hard work together with a well-deserved pizza party, crafted beautiful friendship bracelets, bedazzled custom bookmarks, and put their critical thinking skills to the test in a thrilling team escape room.

We are so incredibly proud of every single student who participated this year. Your dedication, teamwork, and passion for reading truly shine! A huge thank you to our fantastic School Librarians who truly know how to make reading fun!

"Competition makes us faster, but collaboration makes us better." "Competition makes us faster, but collaboration makes us better."

STEM Success at Tech Wars!

Our brilliant Engineering Club students recently put their innovation and problem-solving skills to the test at the annual Tech Wars competition. This massive event is organized each year by the Western New York Technology Educators Association and was held at the ECC Flickinger Center (ECC City Campus). This yearโ€™s competition brought together over 50 schools and nearly 900 students from across the region!

Led by Mr. Cook and Mr. Kutina, our talented teams from both West Seneca East and West Seneca West Senior High Schools stepped up to compete in a series of challenging, hands-on STEM events.

Our students absolutely blew the competition away, bringing home some fantastic honors:

  • ๐Ÿฅˆ 2nd Place Overall (Cardboard Boat Competition): A massive shoutout to our incredible boat captains - Will B., Nick B., and Landon S. - and the master construction crew - Alyssa G., Paul W., Cam R., and Jon L.- who engineered a stellar vessel!
  • ๐Ÿฅ‰ 3rd Place Overall (Cardboard Chair Competition): Congratulations to Nadaliegh H. for designing and building an award-winning, structurally sound cardboard chair!

We also want to recognize Jaden K., Emma F., and Hailey D., who jumped right into the high-stakes, on-site engineering competition, showcasing incredible teamwork and critical thinking under pressure.

We are so proud of all of our Engineering Club participants for representing West Seneca so beautifully. Your creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit truly shine!
