School Site Council School Site Council

We have three parent openings this year on our School Site Council.

Now is a perfect time to be involved with the Hewes School Site Council. As an elected member of the School Site Council, you will attend four meetings during the school year to discuss the improvements to the campus, have input on the School Site Plan, Safety Plan, and other important information to school functionality. The School Site Council is a chance for you, along with others, to work together to make Hewes the best middle school for your student.

E-Vehicle Safety and Permit Information E-Vehicle Safety and Permit Information

All students who ride an E-Vehicle, such as an E-Scooter or E-Bike, are required to take a safety class in order to ride to school. Both parent and student are required to attend this hour-long safety training. At the completion of the training, students will be able to purchase their permit to place on their E-Vehicle, allowing them to park in the bike rack at Hewes. Students are only required to attend the course once during middle school. If your student participated in the course last year and has a permit, no further action is required. We will meet with all E-Vehicle students (new and returning) at the start of the year to review safety expectations on the Hewes Campus. If you need to attend a class, the next class will be at Hewes Middle School on Tuesday, August 26, at 5:30 pm. Additional dates can be found on the flyer attached. Families only need to attend one of the sessions.

If you missed the opportunity to make a yearbook purchase at registration, you can STILL buy a yearbook for the same registration price $70.00, both online and on campus. If you would like to buy online, go to Jostens.com (they do charge a $5.00 service fee). You can also buy on campus in Room F-1 from Mrs. Gonzalez ANY TIME. Or bring your cash or check to back-to-school night next week, where there will be a station set up to make a purchase.
