Cav Community
October
Cascade Families,
As we move into this next month, I want to take a moment to celebrate our students’ academic growth and success. It’s inspiring to see their hard work, grit, and personality come to life in the classroom each day. Thank you for the continued partnership in supporting their learning.
We’re also looking forward to our upcoming conferences. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to connect, share progress, and set goals for the months ahead. Strong communication between home and school is key to every student’s success, and we appreciate your time and involvement.
Thank you for all you do to support your student and our Cascade community.
Go Cavs!

Student Planners
All students have been provided with a student planner for this school year. Students are expected to bring their planner with them every day. These planners will be used to record learning targets for each class as well as important dates and reminders.
As a school, we are focusing on improving teacher clarity. A key part of this is making sure students clearly understand the learning goals each day. The planner is a tool to help support that clarity and keep students organized.
We also encourage parents to check in with their child’s planner regularly. Asking about the day’s learning targets is a great way to spark conversation and stay connected to what your student is learning at school.
If a student misplaces their planner and needs a replacement, they are available in the main office for $3.
Thank you for supporting your student in building these positive habits!

6th Grade: Secondary Sex Characteristics, Puberty, HIV/AIDS
7th Grade: Male and Female Reproductive System, Fertilization, Gestation, Birth, HIV/AIDS

Materials are available for review at the district office, 2715 Lilac Street, from October 20th through October 24th from 8 am to 4 pm, with an additional evening preview on October 23rd from 5:30-6:30. In addition, parents can review the materials during conferences on October 30th from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at Cascade Middle School in room 205. Parents who wish to have their child excused from Human Growth and Development and/or HIV/AIDS lessons must sign a release form. A release form is included with
this letter and available at viewing sites.
Those parents who have no reservations about their child’s participation do not need to review the materials or return the enclosed waiver form.
