Safety Reminder
Parents and guardians are reminded of Board Policy 7:190 (Student Behavior), which explicitly outlines the district's strict stance on prohibited items and behavior.
No weapons or guns of any kind are allowed on school property. Additionally, toy guns, look-alike guns, BB guns, gel blasters, or water guns/blasters are not allowed on school property. This also includes pocket knives, key knives and look alike knives. Bringing any item that looks like a weapon to school is a severe violation of school rules. Any student who brings any of these items to school will face serious disciplinary consequences, which may include suspension or expulsion as well as legal action.
Please talk with your child and remind them of our strict policies related to these types of items on campus.
Digital Citizenship Week
Digital Citizenship Week is from October 19 through October 23.
Digital citizenship isn't just a one-week event in IPSD 204; it is woven into our curriculum and daily learning environment throughout the entire school year:
Curriculum Integration: Through our LMC (Library Media Center) and technology courses, students routinely engage with picture books, literature, and hands-on lessons aligned with digital citizenship, which include topics such as media literacy, online privacy & safety, digital footprints, and AI literacy.
Focus on Digital Well-Being & Mental Health: Across all grade levels, we emphasize healthy screen habits, managing digital distractions, and recognizing how online interactions affect mental health and emotional well-being.
Family Connection: Start the Conversation at Home
You are our most important partner in helping students navigate the digital world. Here are some helpful resources to get you started:
