CCMR Verifier

The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier is available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application from Thursday, May 24 to June 21. The CCMR Verifier provides districts an opportunity to verify the accuracy of their CCMR data and, if needed, submit official documentation to correct data. CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections, and therefore, will not be shown. The CCMR Verifier will contain data for 2021– 22 annual graduates and non-graduating 12th graders.

2023 Campus 3–12 Enrollment List Now Available

District domain and overall ratings are changing to a proportionality method to improve the alignment of district overall ratings with campus overall ratings. This is based on the number of students enrolled in grades 3–12 at each campus receiving domain grades. District enrollments were set in October 2022. This list is posted on the 2023 Accountability Rating System page.

Field Tested Subjects: 3-8 RLA, Eng. I and Eng. II

❓ What are the sunsetting limits for CCMR?

The January Updates to Preliminary A–F Framework describes limiting the percentage of graduates who only meet CCMR criteria via a sunsetting IBC to five graduates, or
20 percent, of graduates, whichever is higher. Does this mean a 20 percent cap on the total sunsetting IBCs earned?

The agency proposes limiting the percentage of graduates who only meet CCMR criteria via a sunsetting IBCs to five graduates or 20 percent of the total annual graduates, whichever is higher.

Example: Texas High School has 200 annual graduates. 50 graduates earned ONLY a sunsetting IBC as their CCMR credit. With the limit, Texas High School would receive credit for 40 of these graduates (20 percent of the total annual graduates), and ten of these graduates would not generate CCMR credit. This limit would be applied within Student Achievement and School Progress, Part B: Relative Performance and would not be applied within Closing the Gaps.

❓ What is TPRS? Is it the same as TAPR?

The Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) integrates state and federal reporting requirements into a single reporting system that can be viewed at the campus, district, region, and state level. As the most comprehensive reporting system published by TEA, TPRS provides additional performance reports, results, and indicators for student groups not previously reported on state accountability data tables, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), or the School Report Card. TPRS is the enhanced online version of TAPR. It has been recently updated with Remote vs. In-Person Data. TEAL Accountability application will show you unmasked data.

The TPRS Glossary provides definitions, describes methodologies, and lists sources for each tab in the TPRS system.

2023 Accountability Ratings Release Dates

Last week, May 26th, the bulletin calendar miscommunicated the accountability ratings publishing dates for TEAL and TXschools.gov. These dates have been corrected in the Preliminary 2022-2023 Performance Reporting Calendar below. Districts will still have access to their accountability results 2 days prior to the scores becoming public. We apologize for this miscommunication of these critical dates.

FAQs

Do the What If reports reflect the most recent 2023 Spring EOC scores?

No, the released What If reports do not include the 2023 Spring EOC results. The What If reports apply the A–F framework to 2022 results.

When will we know the raw scores and scale scores associated with high/low cut points for the 2023 Spring EOC?

In the June 27th preliminary EOC data file (see the Calendar of Events), a student’s high/low performance level indicator for accountability will be reported. A new document (2023 STAAR Raw Scores and Scale Scores Associated with the Calculation of Academic Growth) will be posted to the 2023 Accountability Development Website the week of June 19th.

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

For questions or assistance regarding the information in this communication, contact Texas Testing Support at 833-601-8821, TexasTestingSupport@cambiumassessment.com, or TexasAssessment.gov via live chat. Dates available in the Calendar of Events.

Spring 2023 STAAR and STAAR Alternate 2 Administrations

For the spring 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) and STAAR Alternate 2 end-of-course (EOC) assessments, early student results with passing information will be available in the Central Reporting System (CRS) beginning May 31, 2023, for district testing coordinators, as well as all authorized users. Early data files will be posted to district coordinators’ secure inboxes in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) on this same date and are in a custom data file format, which is available on the Technology Resources page of the Texas Assessment website. The early results now include students’ performance levels for STAAR EOC assessments and STAAR Alternate 2 EOC assessments. Lexile and Quantile information reported for STAAR English I, English II, and Algebra I is preliminary and will be updated in July.

As a reminder, CRS allows authorized users to view secure test items. These test items remain secure until they are released to the public in August.

Minimum System Requirements for 2023–2024

The Minimum System Requirements for the 2023–2024 school year is now available in the Technology Resources section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources. The updated desktop secure browser version 16 for supported versions of macOS, Windows, and Linux will be available on the Texas Assessment website in July. District personnel will need to update desktop secure browsers to version 16 for the new school year. Additionally, the URLs for the Test Delivery System will be updated for the 2023–2024 school year.

Upcoming Texas Assessment Program Activities June 5

SPRING 2023 STAAR REPORTING

The spring 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) grades 3–8 preliminary assessment reports for accountability will be delivered to district coordinators’ secure inboxes in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) on June 9, 2023. These files will contain raw score information; performance level information is not available. Due to the timelines for resetting performance standards, Lexile and Quantile history fields in these files will be blank. However, this information will be populated in the final assessment files that will be delivered on August 11. For STAAR end-of-course (EOC) assessments, Lexile and Quantile measures included in the preliminary assessment reports for accountability, which will be delivered June 27, are not final. Updated Lexile and Quantile measures will be included in the final assessment files for STAAR EOC assessments that will be delivered August 8. Printed student report cards for STAAR EOC assessments will be delivered with STAAR grades 3–8 report cards and will arrive in districts by September 1.

2023 TELPAS ADMINISTRATION

District testing personnel must resolve test discrepancies and submit score code changes for the 2023 Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) administration during the data correction window from June 15 to 22, 2023. During this correction window, district personnel may request rescores for TELPAS speaking and writing. Only rescore requests for students who are at the advanced level for TELPAS speaking or writing will be processed during this time. Any changes will be reflected in updated reports used for accountability, which will be provided on July 25. All other rescore requests may be submitted starting July 26 but will not be reflected in reports used for accountability.

To submit a score code change, district personnel should select the “Change Score Code” option under the Request Type field in the Appeals/Score Codes module in TIDE. To request a rescore of TELPAS speaking or writing items, district personnel should select the “Re-Score a Test” option under Request Type in the Appeals/Score Codes module in TIDE. If a rescore does not result in an improved score, the district will pay a fee of $50. A purchase order number should be entered in the comment section of the Appeals/Score Codes module when submitting the rescore request in TIDE.

ANNUAL SYSTEM ROLLOVER

TIDE, the Test Delivery System (TDS), the Central Reporting System (CRS), and the Learning Management System (LMS) will be offline from 6:00 p.m. (CT) August 18 through 1:00 a.m. (CT) August 28, 2023, to complete a system rollover for the 2023–2024 school year. District testing personnel should download any necessary data files prior to August 18. All users should download and save any information or certifications they have in LMS prior to August 18. During this downtime, all student data will be cleared from TIDE. Students will need to be added to TIDE for the 2023–2024 school year. Users will not be cleared from TIDE, but all passwords will need to be reset when TIDE reopens. Although TDS will be unavailable for users to log in, practice tests will be accessible in guest mode.

For questions or assistance regarding the information in this communication, contact Texas Testing Support at 833-601-8821, TexasTestingSupport@cambiumassessment.com, or TexasAssessment.gov via live chat.

CCMR Tracker Stage 1: Released March 31 CCMR Tracker Stage 1: Released March 31

CCMR Tracker (Part 2) Release (2022-23 grade 9-12 students)- July CCMR Tracker (Part 2) Release (2022-23 grade 9-12 students)- July

The purpose of this communication is to provide information regarding the release of the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Tracker. The CCMR Tracker is released in two stages through TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability. Please note that the data in these reports are confidential.

Stage 1: March 31

  • CCMR indicators submitted via PEIMS through the 2021–22 school year

  • OnRamps and TSIA results through 2021–22 school year

  • SAT, ACT, AP, IB and level I/II certificate results through the 2020–21 school year

Stage 2: July 2023

SAT, ACT, AP, IB and level I/II certificates updated through 2021-22 school year

Background

The CCMR Tracker is a tracking tool within the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. This tool provides districts with an early preview of CCMR status for students who are in grades 9–12 during the 2022–23 school year. The CCMR Tracker contains lagging data as is detailed in the chart below. While the Tracker contains students who were in grades 9–12 on the 2022–23 PEIMS snapshot, the 2023 version does not contain results from school year 2022–23 as those data have yet to be reported.

Indicators are credited if earned within date ranges provided below for students beginning with grade 9 enrollment. TSI assessments are the only CCMR indicator that may be earned prior to grade 9. Indicators reported upon graduation (IEP and workforce readiness graduates and special education graduate with advanced diploma plan) do not appear in the Tracker.

Action

Corrections cannot be submitted to TEA; this report is for informational purposes only. If districts find errors, they are encouraged to work with testing vendors to make corrections prior to the student’s graduation. TSDS PEIMS data are final and cannot be corrected.

The 2023 CCMR Verifier, which will provide districts an opportunity to verify CCMR data given to the agency by outside testing entities for 2021–22 annual graduates and non-graduating 12th graders, will be released in the TEAL Accountability application in July.

If you have questions about the Tracker, please contact the Performance Reporting Division at (512) 463-9704 or performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov.

Military Ready DD Form 4 Military Ready DD Form 4

Beginning with 2023 annual graduates, TEA will award CCMR credit to graduates for whom the district uploads the required documentation. Districts must obtain a completed DD Form 4 “Enlistment/Reenlistment Document-Armed Forces of the United States” from a student who has enlisted. The DD Form 4 must be completed in full, including all required signatures by the student and the enlistment officer.

The securely uploaded DD Form 4 document will be the only form of documentation accepted to document military enlistment for CCMR credit and will only be accepted via the process outlined above. If a district cannot obtain the DD Form 4 or does not upload the form during the official submission process, military enlistment credit will not be awarded. A DD4 form is attached below.
