Lockdown practice
Sometimes, schools need to make sure everyone knows how to stay safe just in case something unusual happens—for example if there's something outside that could be dangerous. Just like we practise fire drills to know what to do if there's a fire, schools are encouraged to do lockdown practices so children learn how to stay safe in other kinds of emergencies.
We are going to do a lockdown practice on Monday and we are preparing children for this. We are not presenting this as something scary to pupils. We are presenting it as more of a game, just a way to be prepared, like superheroes getting ready for action! The practice will involve pupils having to remain silent for a minute or two and either hiding under their tables or sitting in a quiet group away from windows and doors. I appreciate it is a worrying world where schools have to practise these things but we are encouraged to do so.
We wanted to make you aware in case your child mentioned anything at home and you were concerned.

Sporting Update
This week the U11 girl's cricket team competed at the West Yorkshire Girls' Cricket finals. A big well done also to the boys' team who played brilliantly. One of the boys is only in Year 1 and already representing school! Two of our pupils also completed a 1.5km run at the weekend to raise money for their cousin. Well done to all!
You Tube Kids
This week's guide is all about You Tube Kids which we know many of our children access.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the lovely weather. We will see you on Monday.
