Covid Tracker Added to Website

On Thursday, September 23rd, we placed a Covid tracker on the school district website. It is important to know/realize that when we identify a positive case on the tracker, they are ones where the positively tested student was in school at any time from 48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms. Please realize these numbers do not reflect any positives that may be associated outside of these parameters.

Additionally, positive cases to not reflect the number of quarantined student(s), symptomatic student(s), or students awaiting test results. While we track these numbers, their constantly changing nature, and the various rules in place to determine what their status is, make it very difficult to publish. Furthermore, for a variety of reasons, including confidentiality-related reasons, it would not be appropriate to do so. We mention this because we find that folks are looking at our tracker and then comparing them to those they know or think they know are in quarantine. When these numbers look different, people assume the school district is hiding something. We are not hiding anything. We are not being misleading. We strive to, at all times, be transparent with all of our information, but we must also be responsible with the types and kinds of information we share, and the manner in which we share it. We ask that you trust us on this.
