Last week, the Office of Sustainability coordinated with the Bike Shop to offer a bike-powered pumpkin pick up of unwanted pumpkins on campus (and to Ingersoll House). They collected over 50 jack-o-lanterns and collaborated with the Knox Farm Compost Crew, SNU, the Softball team, the Baseball team, Pi Phi, Fiji, and other volunteers to collect and smash the pumpkins to create new compost batches.

Hundreds of pounds of pumpkins were diverted from the Landfill and will help make nutrient rich compost to be used at the Knox farm next year!
