Nearpod is Synonymous for Engagement

Nearpod, it's a weird name for a great engagement tool.

Take your existing Google Slide Decks and Powerpoints and then add Nearpod engagement pieces in advance or even some on the fly. Here are just a few:

  • Collaborate boards & polls,
  • Games, matching exercises & draw-its,
  • Quick quizzes, open-ended questions,
  • Simulations & spontaneous whiteboard opportunities.

Use one of the 8,500+ existing standards-aligned grab-and-go lessons OR copy and change it any way you like! The library is searchable by grade, content area, and even by state standard It has content from resources like and Desmos to iCivics, Simple History and Teaching Tolerance.

Nearpods are:

  • Teacher-Paced: Doesn't let students move ahead (used in a live class discussion)
  • Student-Paced: Lets students cover the material at their own speed, independently
  • Teacher & Student-Paced: Start with teacher mode & students can pick up where the teacher stopped. (Here's how.)
  • An excellent resource for making fast and easy sub plans while still delivering vetted and strong content. (See possible lessons in this Smore.)
