The Guitar class learned three new songs as well as adding the f#minor chord and more new strumming patterns to their skill set. They added "A Thousand Years," "Brave," and "Riptide" to their repertoire. The Vocal Power classes choreographed and performed Broaway and Hollywood Musical songs. The Music 6 class started the Harmony unit with terrific ukulele playing using the C, F, G, and am chords.

In just a few weeks, we will be going to Music in the Parks on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Please read the entire letter for important information regarding this awesome day!

Cashless Park

Six Flags has gone cashless. You may use credit cards, debit cards, and tap-to-pay. If you must use cash, you can purchase a Great America gift card at the park. Outside food/beverages are not allowed. Great America Policies | GA Menu

Festival-Only Students

Students who are not attending Six Flags must be picked up at Warren Township High School (500 N O’Plaine Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031) by 11:15 AM. Students who are not picked up promptly will be bused to Six Flags and will need to be picked up outside the park where they will be waiting with Mrs. Broeker.

What to wear

The uniform for our performances is the tie-dye music t-shirt (or plain red or plain gold t-shirt) with jeans or black pants. Please no shorts for performance–students may change at the park. Depending on the weather, students should bring layers that they can easily put on or take off.

What to bring

No outside food/beverages are allowed in the park at Six Flags. Students may bring a water bottle and snack for the bus ride. Students can also bring a small bag to carry around the park with their phone and money for their lunch/souvenirs. Students are responsible for their own belongings. Sunscreen is highly recommended. Even on overcast days, students can get sunburned.

Expectations

While at the park, students MUST stay in groups of 3 or more. No student should wander the park alone. In case of an emergency, Mrs. Broeker, Mrs. Fong, and Ms. LaTragna will be at the designated bench by the fountain/carousel entrance.

for SIX BRILLIANT PERFORMANCES! You "reached for the heavens" with your exquisite singing, inspiring acting, and electrifying dancing! We certainly had the "Stars thrown in!" They were onstage, backstage, and on stage right! The Light, Sound, and Stage Crews were actually perfect in every way! The Parent Volunteers' decorations, concessions, and supervision added so much style to our shows!

Thank you for your incomparable dedication! I miss seeing you at rehearsals!!!
