Welcome Back from Spring Break!

The Spring term brings loads of school and community activities and events. In April we begin with Latin American lessons, Coast Salish Weave Art, Butterflies and Gardening, Como Lake Relays, Mini Rapids Grade 5 Girls Basketball, MayPole Dance Team, and Lunch Box Theatre.

The school calendar for Spring events is updated as much as possible for you to check dates and schedules for your family planning.

For April, key dates are:

- Summer Learning Registration opens April 2nd

- Good Friday/Easter Monday on April 3,6 statutory holidays, school closed

- New Kindergarten "Meet'n Greet" April 15th 4:00-5:30pm

- Como Lake Relays on April 16th 2:00pm- 6:00pm

- School Performance- classes performing Latin American dancing on April 17th 1:15pm - 2:15pm

- Monthly Assembly on April 22nd 9:00am-9:45am

- Pro D Day on April 24th, school closed

- Student Conferencing and Early Dismissals April. 29 & 30th 1:30pm-4:00pm

Classes for 2026-2027

As we begin to approach the end of the year, planning for next year is starting. Planning and building classes are very comprehensive activities and something we spend a lot of time on at École Kilmer Elementary. We will begin with teachers individually looking at all students learning needs and peer relationships. Once this process is completed, we begin to look at building classes with respect to balancing learning and social-emotional needs and doing our best for each of our students and taking into consideration the rules for class size and composition. If there are specific learning or peer issues that you would like the school to know of, please feel free to write or email Mrs. Roberts a letter and she will include it as a part of the deliberations into our class building process. Specific teacher requests will not be considered in our class building.

Please find the attached information about “Kilmer StrongStart’s Kickstart to Kindergarten.” Kickstart to Kindergarten is a great opportunity for you and your child to connect with your school through StrongStart and to meet other families entering Kindergarten in September. If you are interested, please complete the registration form and indicate the dates you are interested in attending. To ensure fair access for all students, SD43 Summer Learning will be using a lottery system for class placement.

Bottle Drive Competition

Collect your bottles in a clear bag and simply bring them to any RETURN-IT! Use the kiosk using one of two numbers posted below, print off a sticker and leave it with them!

— Let’s see which team can collect the most bottles!

Mention Kilmer Elementary and 10% of every order will be donated to KPAC.
