Welcome to September!
Back to School Activities
The Basics
Work on those fine motor skills! You can focus on cutting, gluing, taping, and drawing. You can have them cut out the outline of their favorite animals, shapes, and other interesting objects.
ABC's
The beginning of literacy! Your little ones can sing and recite the alphabet while using toys, props, stickers and more to express the alphabet in its entirety.
Story Time
Read, read, read! Take time to read stories with children every single day, multiple times a day. Let's foster a true love for reading during these early years!
My name is...
Everyone has a name! Start learning how to spell it, create it, trace it, and write it! Use chalk, magnetic letters, stickers, highlighters, sand trays, shaving cream, and playdoh to learn how to spell your little one's name. Make it fun!
Numbers
1, 2, buckle my shoe. 3, 4, .... Number recognition is the foundation of math. Use those manipulatives (bears, Legos, cubes, rocks, sticks... the possibilities are endless!) to introduce or reinforce counting and number recognition.
Colors
Colors, colors everywhere! Explore colors through play and engaging activities. Focus on a color a day or a color a week, read stories, mix paint, sort colored puff balls into cupcake tins... again, endless possibilities!
