Join Us This Week:

Tomorrow - Meet the Teacher & 8th Grade Orientation. We can't wait to connect with you and share what's in store for this fantastic year ahead. This is your chance to meet your teachers, explore your classrooms, and get those first-day jitters out of the way in the best possible way.

Tuesday - First Day of School The moment we've all been waiting for! We're ready to dive into learning, growing, and achieving great things together.

WE ARE RAPPAHANNOCK

This year, we're prouder than ever to embody what it means to be Rappahannock.

These values will guide us as we build an even stronger community where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.

To our returning students: Welcome back! We've missed your energy, your questions, and your unique perspectives that make our school special.

To our new students and families: Welcome to the Rappahannock family! You're joining a community that cares deeply about each other and believes in the power of education to transform lives.

To our parents and guardians: Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gifts. We're committed to partnering with you to ensure every student thrives.

This year we have made some minor adjustments to the RCHS Bell Schedule. These adjustments have been made to provide our students with 5 mins between classes, and 35 mins for lunch. Both of these changes were driven by feedback and suggestions from students. Therefore, there are some IMPORTANT adjustments that everyone needs to be aware of:

ARRIVAL

Buses will be offloaded at 8:00 AM

Warning Bell at 8:10 AM

Daily Announcements, Pledge, and Moment of Silence 8:15 AM

Block 1 Classes start at 8:20 AM

DISMISSAL

Afternoon announcements will be made at the beginning of Block IV

Dismissal will begin at 3:20 PM. Students will be released by the PA system, not by the bell.

It is important to note that instruction will be bell to bell for each block, therefore, it is important that students are on-time to classes, and limit time out of class.

BUS DRIVERS NEEDED!

Please help us spread the word that RCPS is actively hiring bus drivers. Your continued support is essential in helping us fill this vital need. Bus drivers are in such a critical shortage area, and we are currently seeking both full-time and substitute drivers.

·$500 sign-on bonus

·All training costs are covered

·For substitute bus drivers, an extra $100 bonus is given for every 10 routes.

VRS Retirees: The Code of Virginia allows Virginia's K-12 school divisions to hire eligible Virginia Retirement System (VRS) retirees into specific full-time, critical shortage teaching, administrative, specialized student support positions, and bus driving positions. For questions, please call the School Board Office at 540-227-0023.
