Dear Reidy Creek Families,

Our wonderful teaching staff returned on Wednesday and have been busy getting everything ready for their students. I hope your children are just as happy about the start of school as we are! Whether they are feeling nervous, happy, excited, or a mixture of all three, please know that we are here to help your child have an excellent and smooth start to the school year.

This newsletter contains important information about school policies and procedures, so please read it carefully.

Enjoy your last weekend of summer, and we'll see you on Tuesday morning!

Class Lists Class Lists

Class lists are available on the Parent Portal in PowerSchool beginning at 5:00 pm this evening. If you have the ThrillShare app, you should also be able to view the class. You will receive a welcome email from your child's teacher before the first day of school.

Please remember that our staff spent a great deal of time creating balanced classes for this year. It is a complex process that involves reviewing factors such as academics, social needs, behavioral concerns, learning styles, and friendship groups.

While we are always happy to discuss questions or concerns that parents may have, please know that we do not grant requests for specific teachers and will not change class assignments during the first two weeks of school, except when there are dire extenuating circumstances.

TK and Kinder Meet and Greet TK and Kinder Meet and Greet

  • Kindergarten: 11:00-12:00 (Start in the classroom)

A few other reminders:

  • Parking will also be available on our blacktop.
  • Staff will be available to help guide families to the correct classrooms.
  • Our PTA will provide important information about school events and spirit wear.

First Day of School Reminders First Day of School Reminders

We're looking forward to seeing all of our students on August 20th. School will begin at 8:10 that morning, with blacktop gates opening at 7:40.

Here is some important information regarding drop-off and pick-up for the first few days. As many of you know, we have very limited parking, and it is important that all families read through our policies clearly to help drop-off and pick-up run smoothly!

Drop-Off:

  • For the first day, parents are welcome to walk their children onto campus and to their classrooms. We'll have plenty of staff members outside to ensure students know where to go.

  • The blacktop area will be open for additional parking.

Pick-Up:

  • Students will receive colored limo signs on the first day of school. Moving forward, please ensure these signs are clearly visible in the front window.

  • All cars picking up third-grade students must go through our bus loop to pick up students.

  • All cars picking up TK-second grade students can turn left and pick up students in front of the Kindergarten playground.

  • Please DO NOT get out of your vehicle in the pick up line. If you need to assist your child in getting buckled in, please pull all of the way forward to the end of the lane by our TK/K Playground. Our staff outside can also help.

  • Please pull all the way down to the end of the loop before picking up your child. We will have staff outside to help direct cars.

  • After the first day of school, if you would like your older sibling to pick up a younger sibling, they can pick them up outside the Kindergarten gate and bring them back to the bus loop for pickup. Please let your younger child's teacher know this information.

  • After the traffic has cleared in the pick-up line, any remaining students will be walked to the office at 3:00pm, where they will wait to be picked up.

Breakfast and Lunch:

  • Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students free of charge.

  • Breakfast is served before school from 7:30-8:00.

  • Every day, students have the option of bringing their lunch or getting hot lunch through the cafeteria. The menu for each month will always be posted at the bottom of the Coyote Connection.

We appreciate your help and cooperation!

School Policies School Policies

Cell Phones

Students are not permitted to use any personal devices at school except in an emergency. The policy applies to cell phones, mobile devices, and smart watches. During the school day, those devices are to be turned off and kept in a student’s backpack. The school is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage to personal electronic devices, including cell phones and other valuable items brought to school.

Birthdays

While we appreciate the joy and excitement that accompanies our students’ birthdays, we do not allow parents to bring food items to their child’s classroom due to dietary restrictions, food allergies, and the varied nutritional preferences of our parent population. We also do not allow balloons on campus.

We encourage parents to consider bringing non-food items such as pencils, stickers, stamps, etc. for classmates.

We also invite parents to pay $5 to have their child’s name posted on our marquee as part of our PTA’s “Birthday Marquee” program. There is a birthday form included in the Welcome Back Packet, or you can stop by the front office.

Health Information Health Information

We are still missing medication for many students. If your student requires emergency medication (Inhaler, Epi-Pen, Diastat, Valtoco or Baqsimi) please make sure that you bring the Doctor's order and the medication to the health office prior to the first day of school. Your student will NOT be able to attend school without it. If your student no longer requires the medication at school, you can have the Doctor write a note stating they no longer need it at school and then they can attend without it.

Our office is open M-F from 8:00am - 4:00pm to accept medications.

Student Medical Insurance Student Medical Insurance

If you are interested in purchasing Student Accident Medical Insurance, the attached digital brochure and electronic application are linked below. This is a voluntary option for parents to provide medical coverage for their child(ren) during the 2024/2025 school year or specifically for sports.
