Healthy Habits, Happy School Year!
What are your self-care habits?
As we begin a new school year, it's the perfect time to set healthy goals that support success both inside and outside the classroom. Establishing positive habits, such as getting enough sleep, eating nutritious meals, staying active, staying organized, and practicing kindness, can help you feel confident and ready to learn. Small, consistent choices each day can lead to big accomplishments throughout the year. Let's work together to make this school year a healthy, happy, and successful one!
Important Dates and Updates
Event Information
Please join us on Monday, September 14th at 5:30 PM for an informational evening filled with opportunities to learn more about our school programs and ways to get involved. We will begin with our annual Title I meeting, led by Ms. Clark, who will share what it means to be a Title I school and how this program supports our students and families. The PTA will also provide information about membership, ways to become involved, and volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Families interested in learning more about the AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) program, or those who feel their child may qualify, are invited to attend a brief presentation by Ms. Woodlock about the AIG identification process and opportunities available to students. There will be a form to RSVP linked in the newsletters in the upcoming weeks.
Event Information
Join us on Monday, September 28th at 5:30 PM for a Bear-illiant Minds: An AIG Family Information Night! Walking tacos will be provided as we discuss an overview of the school year. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our AIG program, hear about the exciting activities and enrichment opportunities students participate in at each grade level, and ask any questions you may have about AIG services at Trask. We look forward to partnering with families and sharing how we support and challenge our gifted learners throughout the school year. There will be a form to RSVP linked in the newsletters in the upcoming weeks. We hope to see you there!
NC Association of Gifted and Talented (NCAGT)
This event has been changed to APRIL!!
Join us for the first event in our NCAGT Family Tour Series in April!
COMING SOON: Differentiated Instructional Plans (DEPs)
All DEPs will be emailed to parents in September for electronic signatures. If you do not see an email with this information by the end of September, please check your spam or junk folder.
Think of the DEP as a roadmap for your child’s journey through the school year. Like planning a cross-country trip, it highlights your child’s strengths, outlines the best path for continued growth, and identifies the supports and strategies that will help them be successful. Our goal is to ensure each student’s experience is personalized, purposeful, and designed to help them grow.
I look forward to partnering with you throughout the school year! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like to discuss your child’s DEP.
