A Story of Hope, A Semester of Purpose A Story of Hope, A Semester of Purpose

Liz Huntley Visits Cahaba
zoom_out_map Show in original size

Cahaba teachers kicked off the new semester inspired and encouraged by guest speaker and author Liz Huntley, who shared her powerful story from her book More Than a Bird. Liz spoke candidly about her childhood experiences and how she was ultimately saved through education, reminding educators of the profound impact they have on the lives of students, especially when they choose to truly see what is happening behind the eyes of a child. Her message was a meaningful reminder that schools can be places of hope, safety, and transformation.

The morning also offered a warm welcome back to campus, as teachers were treated to breakfast featuring fresh biscuits, an apple bar, and a hearty breakfast casserole. The combination of fellowship, encouragement, and Liz’s inspiring message set a positive tone for the semester ahead and reaffirmed the important work happening every day at Cahaba.
