Jason Webb with the CSU experiment station came to talk with our 5th graders about soil and the spheres.

Nicki Glosson with Edward Jones in Sterling held a school supply drive to benefit the Akron School. Each year they have blessed the school with supplies to help students who are in need.

On Thursday, September 4th, the Greenhouse Production class worked with Washington County Nursing Home residents to create a fun floral craft to celebrate Grandparent's Day. The residents did a great job making their pots with the assistance of our AHS students.

On September 3rd, ten students attended a Range Judging Workshop in Arickaree. Students were able to judge a range site with the help of experts from the Cope Conservation District and Ben Berlinger, a long time advocate for Range Management. Students gained valuable knowledge to help them in the upcoming range contests. A pit stop at Anton Supers was also necessary.

Tuesday night the Lady Rams faced the Prairie Mustangs at home. The team battled through 5 sets, but came up a few points short to secure the win.

The Lady Rams will play again on Tuesday, September 9th at Holyoke.

Addison Weis claimed 1st place in her cross country meet last weekend in Sterling. Addie is running for Merino.

Kolton Strand is also participating in cross country for Yuma and had his first meet over the weekend running a time of 21.35.

The JV golf team traveled to Liberty/Joes for a tournament on Tuesday. Our golfers performed well, finishing 3rd as a team overall.

Thursday night the Rams had their home opener against Calhan. The night started off with a storm delay due to lightning and rain, but ended well with big 50-6 win over the Bulldogs.

The Rams will face St. Mary's on Friday night in Colorado Springs.
