Fall Activities Begin!
Even though school hasn’t started, our Wildcats are already busy getting ready for another great year! From fall extracurricular activities and athletics to painting parking spots, preparing classrooms, and finding other ways to get involved, our students are bringing great energy and excitement to KHS. We’re proud of the hard work, school spirit, and support our students are showing one another, and we can’t wait to see what this year has in store!

Bell Schedules
We will be operating off two different schedules for the 2026-2027 school year. Our school day is from 7:25 a.m. to 2:28 p.m. Some students will start their day at 7:25 while others will start 8:10, depending on the level of support needed. Connections and Mentorship will be explained further in this newsletter.
* Connections will be on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays, never on Wednesdays
** Wednesdays from 7:25 am - 8:00 am will be used as teacher collaboration time
*** Mentorship and Early Release days are on the same days (9/9, 10/14, 11/11, 12/9, 1/13, 2/10, 3/10, 4/14, 5/12)
What is Connections?
Keystone Connections is a dedicated intervention and enrichment period held every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:25–8:00 a.m. that provides students with personalized support and opportunities to grow. The time is intentionally used to help students succeed academically through extra instruction, tutoring, assessment make-ups, credit recovery support, and access to teachers for additional assistance. Connections also allows students to participate in enrichment activities, college and career planning, guest speakers, and schoolwide initiatives that build leadership, character, and a sense of belonging.
Who Attends Connections?
Teachers can request students who would benefit from additional academic support or enrichment, and students and parents may also request attendance. Students earning a D or F in any course are required to attend until their academic progress improves at the next grade check. Please see the graphic below for dates where grade checks will occur. It is important that students and parents are aware of when these grade checks happen as our Connections Lists will be built on this data. By providing targeted support during the school day, Keystone Connections helps ensure every student has the resources, relationships, and opportunities needed to achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.
To start the 2026-2027 school year, any student returning to KHS who earned a D or an F as a final grade in a class will start the year assigned to a Connections group. Mrs. Allison will emailed these students and parents on August 17th. Also, ALL incoming freshmen will be assigned a Connections group for the first grading period.
Freshmen will start Connections on the first day of school, September 2nd
Students assigned to Connections start on the first day of school, September 2nd

Chromebook Distribution Reminder
The district stays focused on ensuring our district resources and our technology program is both sustainable and responsible, we want to share a reminder of how Chromebooks are distributed and managed across the district. A new Chromebook currently costs approximately $458 per student, and each student will receive two new Chromebooks during their time at Keystone—one in 4th grade and one in 9th grade. The $30 annual technology fee helps offset the cost of providing these two devices, as well as the ongoing management, maintenance, and support of our technology program.
- Students in the early grades will continue to have fully functional devices. Chromebooks will be monitored and maintained, and devices will be replaced as needed if they are no longer functioning properly.
- Families will not have the option to keep previously issued devices. All senior devices will be collected, refurbished when appropriate, and redistributed to students in grades K–3. This will help us maximize the useful life of our technology investment and ensure our resources are used efficiently.
This process allows Keystone to continue providing students with the technology they need while being thoughtful and responsible with district resources. Our goal is to provide reliable, functional technology—not simply new technology—and to make sure every Chromebook is used to its fullest potential.
Chromebooks
9th Grade - Will receive new Chromebooks and chargers. The new Chromebooks and chargers will be available in their first period class on the first day of School.
10th, 11th and 12 Graders - At the end of last year, all students were required to turn their Chromebook and charger into our tech team for updates and tagging. The students who turned these in will receive their Chromebook in their first period class on the first day of school. Students who did not submit their Chromebooks and chargers will be required to do a quick check-in with a member of our tech team in the first few weeks of school.
All students are expected to come to school with their Chromebook charged and ready to go, daily. The only time students should be utilizing a personal device such as personal laptop should be when teacher permit this.
