Dear Nassau Families,

November is the perfect reminder of all of the gifts that we have. I am very grateful to work with such an amazing group of kids. Their passion, inquisitive nature, love of learning, and gentle kindness inspire me every single day! November also brings us to the end of our first marking period. Our parent teacher conferences will be held November 16, 17 and 18. This is a great time to meet with your child's teacher to discuss their progress in the new school year.

Most of the leaves are off of the trees in Poughkeepsie, but it will be 75 degrees and sunny this weekend. I hope you and your family can get outside and enjoy it!

Best,

Erik Lynch

Principal

Please be aware that there has been increase in RSV cases in the community. As always, if your child has a fever and/or symptoms of illness, please keep them home and seek medical advice from your pediatrician. RSV is very contagious and can be a serious illness for the very young, old and those with underlying medical conditions such as asthma.

As per the CDC, Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia (infection of the lungs) in children younger than 1 year of age in the United States. See link below for more information.
