The Good Old School Days' at Historical Society Will Inspire Memories of Your School Days

Milford Historical Society

34 High St, Milford, CT, 06460

1 to 4 p.m. and on all Saturdays and Sundays through September 28.

Admission is always free, although donations are gratefully accepted.

Side-street parking is suggested to leave the small MHS parking lot for people with disabilities.

Our latest display shows how Milford Public Schools grew from one-room schoolhouses to the large schools we have today. It begins with Jasper Gunn, the first teacher in 1642, who taught students in his home. Over the years, the Society has saved old schoolbooks, desks, chalk slates, American flags, typewriters, diplomas, and photos of early schoolhouses and students. There are also group photos of sports teams, music groups, and class pictures—maybe even someone you know! This display brings back memories of school days long ago.
