No App Necessary

Thanksgiving may be a calendar app notification signaling days to gather and be grateful. However, sharing gratitude on common days doesn't require a calendar popup. Our ordinary days may become extraordinary, simply by sharing our gratitude.

FCS is grateful for all you do, and wishes you happy days of giving thanks!

CPS Building Pride CPS Building Pride

It's easy to take pride in our district's buildings. They span from historic to cutting edge and are constantly being improved. Maintaining our buildings is a collective effort with respect to observing, reporting, and repairing.

Some maintenance needs are higher priority or even an emergency. Here are tips on when to place a work order as an emergency.

Custodians Are Your Building's First Responders Custodians Are Your Building's First Responders

Before submitting an emergency work order, check with your building's in-house professionals. Custodians are trained to assist with changing lightbulbs, turning off water lines, unclogging toilets and sinks, and clearing area hazards. If necessary, help can be enlisted from Area Supervisors.

What Constitutes an FCS Work Order Emergency? What Constitutes an FCS Work Order Emergency?

Examples of Specialized Maintenance Emergency Work Orders

  • Water or sewage backup from drain clogs, that custodians cannot clear
  • Sparks from switches or plugs
  • Exposed wires
  • Power outages
  • Smell of gas

Just remember: F-C-S

Facts: accurate and current

Contact: on-site contact person

Share: a picture attached to the work order

  • WHO is it affecting? A room, kitchen, the entire school.
  • WHAT is the event? Smell, plumbing, temperature.
  • WHEN was the approximate start time.
  • WHERE, including specifics such as a particular stall or sink.
  • WHY, if known.
  • HOW...much. Water examples include, leaking, overflowing, filled a 5-gallon bucket in 20 minutes.

Extra Tips

  • Flush only toilet paper in toilets, even if labeled "flushable".
  • Avoid walking in water where there may be submerged electrical connections. In general, use grounded electrical strips to decrease likelihood of electrocution.
  • Avoid subjective words like “massive” or “huge” in work orders.

Please, Be Patient.

Your circumstances ARE important, and we will be with you as soon as possible!

Attention, Custodians! Attention, Custodians!
