Enjoy your Break, Time, and Peace
We have officially hit the Christmas break and it is time to enjoy some time for ourselves, with our families/loved ones, and just to have a little time doing what you want to do. It was a very good 1st semester and we have all earned a little time to enjoy what we want. I encourage you to have a little fun, do some activities that you haven't done for awhile, and lets recharge to be ready when January 5th comes around!

Recap of the Week!
Recap of the Week!
Above and Beyond
I wanted to share some awesome news that was shared about our Boys Basketball team that came from another schools' AD:
"Hi!
Currently at the girls basketball game and I’m not sure if we can send a compliment to Shelby- Rising City but I just wanted them to know how awesome it was to see the visiting boys team standing and cheering for our color guard and our little girls during half time. That was so sweet and so cool to see! Kudos to them! "
Leading by example and the smallest acts of kindness make a HUGE impact on those around us. Proud of these gentlemen and I look forward to sharing more positives for all of our students as the year continues! Let's keep the positive vibes and actions rolling!
Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Hayden Hopwood for being named this weeks PCN Athlete of the week.
On the hardwood, she is averaging 17.0 PPG and 16.5 RPG. She recently led the Huskies to a win over Cedar Bluffs with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

As this 1st semester comes to a close, SRC would like to thank Jaxson Thompson for his leadership as our Student Board Advisor for the 1st semester.
He did a tremendous job with monthly meetings, checking in with the student body, and being prepared with his meeting notes, highlights, and insights for the school board.
We appreciate your time, dedication, and the effort you put into your role!
Next semester we will have Urijah Grant taking over as the next Advisor.

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Enjoy your Break...
Good morning!
As we hit the final bells of the semester, this quote has been ready to go. It speaks to our school year. We have spent the last several months immersed in the "everyday" (the early mornings, the complex lesson planning, the grading, and the relentless pursuit of excellence). And what an "everyday" it has been.
Reflecting on this past semester, I am proud of the many success stories we have written together. From our outstanding state ratings to the quiet, individual breakthroughs in our classrooms where a student finally "clicked" with a difficult concept, we haven't just met our goals—we’ve surpassed them.
But beyond the data and the ratings, what has truly made this semester remarkable are the relationships that have flourished. I see it in the hallways every day: the mentorships between our staff and our students, the strengthened partnerships with our SRC families, and the way this team has leaned on one another during the busiest weeks. These bonds are the heartbeat of our district. We have witnessed students grow not just in their test scores, but in their character and confidence, and that is a success story that doesn't always fit on a spreadsheet, but is what makes Shelby-Rising City a special place to be.
It is because our "everyday" has been so rich, so full, and so intentional that we now find ourselves in need of the "once in a while" break.
My hope for you over this holiday season is that you give yourself permission to step away from the work and step into the moment. Cherish the time with your families, hold tight to the traditions that bring you joy, and most importantly, take time for yourself. You have poured so much into our students this semester; now, it is time to pour a little back into your own cup.
We need this break so that we can return in January hit the ground running for the 2nd semester. Thank you for an incredible semester. I am so proud to serve alongside you.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and very merry holiday break!
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"You need abreak every once in a while to enjoy the everyday and you need the everyday to enjoy the break you take every once in a while."

Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
