Message from the Principal
PLV Families,
Let's talk about attendance. September is Attendance Awareness Month.
Being on time makes a big difference in a child’s day! Our mornings begin right at 8:45 with arrival, morning routines, announcements, and classroom community-building. When students arrive on time, they feel calm, prepared, and ready to connect with their peers and teachers. Arriving even 10 or 15 minutes late can cause a student to feel rushed and miss out on crucial instruction that sets the tone for the entire day.
Consistently arriving on time and attending school every day builds habits that set our students up for long-term success. If your family is facing challenges with morning routines, transportation, or attendance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you!
Thank you for partnering with us to give your child the best start to every school day.
With PLV Pride,
Mrs. Nowell

This week's Exploratory Rotation Schedule
PLV Band & Chorus
Band and chorus practice will begin this week. The schedule will be posted in each family update. Lessons will always be on Day 4. However, the times will rotate so students are not missing the same subject every time.
Lesson groups are back-to-back so students need to leave their class with enough time to set up and be ready to go by the start of their lesson.

Code of Conduct
This week your students should have been sent home with a Code of Conduct form. They participated in our Code of Conduct Presentations, and we are asking you to please return these signed forms to their teachers. Thank you

Classroom Celebrations and Snack Order Info
We have had questions about birthday celebrations and ordering snacks for classrooms. Please find the links below for information about the district outside food policy and ordering classroom celebration snacks. Please be advised that the nutrition department requires orders 10 days in advance. No outside food is permitted.
Dismissal Changes & Reminders
Dismissal changes must be communicated to your child's teacher and Ms. Jaimie in the front office BEFORE 3:00pm. This buffer gives our office staff and teachers enough time to safely route your child to the correct location without any last-minute confusion. Clear communication before 3:00 PM prevents chaotic handoffs at the end of the day and guarantees that every student gets home safely.
Parents in the car line for either arrival or dismissal need to stay in their cars. Staff will signal for students to exit their cars as we do not want students getting out/getting in their cars while cars are still pulling into the line.
Volunteers
All volunteers will need to be on the district approved volunteer list. Volunteers are an integral part of our success and our belief that together we are stronger as a district. Please complete the volunteer application and submit all the information requested. All personal data submitted by applicants is confidential. Including a personal email address in your application will ensure you are informed once your application is approved. As part of standard school safety practices, all volunteers and visitors to CSD schools must provide a photo ID each time they visit any District facility.
This is required for parents/guardians volunteering in the classrooms, visiting for lunch, chaperoning field trips, etc.
