Cuero Junior High
Week of October 12, 2026
What's happening at CJH?
π¦ From the Principal's Desk
We have so much to celebrate this week! Congratulations to our students who earned All-A Honor Roll recognition for the first six weeks and to our first Gobbler Good Citizen award recipients. We are proud of the hard work, positive choices, and commitment these students bring to our campus.
We also wrapped up a great cross country season, with both our seventh-grade girls and eighth-grade boys winning district championships! Our choir students added to an exciting week with a fantastic concert Thursday night. Thank you to our students, coaches, directors, and families for making these accomplishments possible.
This Wednesday, students will participate in our Level Up Benchmark during the school day. Please encourage your child to take the benchmark seriously and give their best effort. The results will help us identify each studentβs strengths and areas for growth so we can develop an individual action plan to support their progress.
Progress reports will go home Thursday. Please take a few minutes to review your childβs grades together, celebrate their progress, and discuss any areas that need attention.
We will also conduct hearing, vision, and acanthosis screenings for all seventh-grade students this week.
Our Focus
At Cuero Junior High, we believe every choice, every action, and every day matter. We look forward to helping students focus their minds, level up their effort, achieve their goals, and take each day up a notch.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Gobbler family. Letβs level up together!

Upcoming Dress-Up Days
We are excited to celebrate school spirit together during our upcoming themed dress-up days! Students are encouraged to participate while continuing to follow the campus dress code. All shoes must be in dress code. Leggings may be work IF they have fingertip length shorts or a skirt on top. No hair dye, body paint, or face paint covering the majority of the face.
Wednesday, October 14 β Bag the Wildcats
Dress like Adam Sandler and wear your favorite baggy clothes.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
During the month of October, students are allowed to wear Cuero ISD/school-spirit shirts that incorporate pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition, we will have a Pink Out week where students may wear any school appropriate pink attire.
October 19β23 β Pink Out Week
Wear pink all week to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Letβs show support, spread kindness, and stand together for those who have been affected by breast cancer.

π» Chromebooks
This is a reminder that all students are expected to bring their charged Chromebook and charger to school every day.
Students may receive consequences for:
Arriving to class without their Chromebook
Excessive Chromebook checkouts (more than 4 per semester)
Failing to return a loaner Chromebook on the same day it is checked out
Please help us by ensuring your child brings both their Chromebook and charger to school daily.
Thank you for your support!
π· Attendance Policy
Attendance matters every day. Regular, on-time attendance helps students stay connected to instruction, keep up with assignments, and earn course credit. Please review our Attendance, Absence & Tardy Expectations for documentation requirements, the 90% rule, and tardy consequences.
Students who arrive more than 10 minutes after the tardy bell are counted absent. Please help students arrive on time each day.
βπ» Student check-out and deliveries
Students may only be checked out by a Parent/Guardian or someone listed on their Parent Portal Account. Please be prepared to show a valid driver's license or ID Card.
Please note:
- Regular School Days: No student pick-up/check-out after 3:00 PM
- Early Release Days: No student pick-up/check-out after 12:00 PM
